Apparently the public beta is going to start once they complete their next phase of staff testing. It says in the next few months on their website forums.

Delayed for 2 years... I mean.... it's not THAT much.
They NEED to get a beta soon before more people start getting fed up with their crap and leave. It's going to be a good game, but they need outside hep to test to get all the bugs out, they can't do it all internally.
Well every impatient person that leaves will come groveling to get into beta when they already took everyone in that they need and are no longer accepting applications. Everyone knows that is how it will happen. Me though I'm just going to be patient and play AO and WoW untill the release that shoud tide me over!

Who cares about fecking BETA... i don't care if i miss it. To me this game is pure vapourware, if it's not then it's the answer to the PvPer's wishes and i don't give a rat's ass if i miss BETA as long as it gets released.

Usually if they are close to Beta they start showing it privately at shows. So far they have not done that. Does not make sense to ignore the free publicity you get from shows, so my take it is just not ready for Beta yet.

I see where you are coming from, I really do. I was once as excited as the next man about this game. While my claims of vapor may be debunked (and I really hope that they are), nothing has been shown to me to change my mind. Believe it or not, I would love to see this game released. I'm not here to troll, but I also dislike the absolute unwavering devotion to a game that has shown us little over the course of its development. So yes, I will say something from time to time.
I saw the mount videos and I checked and looked at the other game videos floating around out there (I was wrong to claim there was only one). None of those tell me much about the game mechanics. Although they showed a first person view of naval combat, as well as somebody casting a spell, this doesn't tell us much of anything about how the game truly operates. If they are as close to beta as they claim, why don't they give the devoted fans (which you clearly are) a little taste of what its going to be like.
Anyway, Ill leave it at that. I'm not really here to argue. I just check on this game from time to time.
