download games through bit-torrent?

 I've tried to download a few of the games advertized on this site.

Mythwars and Anarchy Online being two.

But both Spybot and Norton gives me red alert on them, so my question is.

How safe is it to download these games and do mmorpg.com give guarantees that these companys doesnt fill my pc with junk?

    dont know about mythwars.. but anarchy online doesnt have spy ware..

    For the most part... Mainstream games dont come with spyware

    There is nothing wrong with either of those game downloads. Want peace of mind? Get rid of Norton. It's the biggest POS when it comes to anti-virus. Norton will screw your system faster than the freakin' virus it's supposed to protect you from.

    OMG THANK YOU!!!!!!!! EVERY SINGLE friend of mine like Blindly Believes in Norton... And i tell them all just get Avast antivirus or something... But nooooo they love norton... And Norton I Such a piece of crap it's unbalievable...
    Norton screws up so many of my friends comps... its sad.. One friend pressed a button by accident... and locked FireFox from the interwebs... it's sad how stupid norton is.

    Haha. Norton's not stupid because of that. Sadly, your friend was the stupid one. They could have unblocked it just as easy as it was to block it.  That's more of a cockpit error or oprator error. I've used NIS for a few years and it's never given me any problems and kept my system clean. I dunno, maybe some people have problems. But I never have. I never really even notice it running.

    I call it stupid becaue they pretty much gave him the option of blockin it... And intern made me get outa of my bed to unblock it...

    Norton complains about everyhting... even sometimes when you wanna play online games Or use Bittorrent... Norton is like ....... WARNING WARNING wil robinson... Bittorrent is attempting to access the internet ... And I'm like No DUH Norton... then Norton is like STFU noob... I rule your computer... and I'm like Wateva Norton and then i go to add/remove and get rid of that!!

    I got rid of norton because it was a piece of crap.
    I use McAfee and to me it's a lot better than what I had before...

    We do not verify, nor guarantee, the integrity of any files downloaded from other sites.

    Why don't you just download the games from the official sites? AO is free so it's openly available on the official site. I don't know about the other game.

    Yes they do.

    Many new games include spyware that reports your usuage to the publisher.

    Famously;

     Half life 2: Episode 1

    Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter.

    World Of Warcraft.

    This is an increasing trend amongst game publishers. A lot of Anticheat also uses spyware.

    When you go to the official site to download the game, it says to use bittorent.

    I downloaded games from bittorrent, but I didn't HAVE virus scanners back then.

    Did my computer mess up?  Eventually, but I just reformatted and started playing again.  No problem. 

    I'm a console gamer now though..so I actually have to pay for my entertainment.  What a jip.
