Invites to all pre-existing (beta 0 thru beta 2.5) testers were emailed out tonight!People should be logging in by tomorrow and we'll give the current build a solid couple of days of testing and then as soon as possible start bringing in fresh new beta 3 people.
invites went out last night and hopefully the new ones this weekend sometimes or Monday, i am crossing my fingers to finally get my invite now that beta 3 has started and it has been optimized for lesser computers like mine lol.

I am expecting beta invites to new testers to start tomorrow, Monday, Aug. 7., or very soon thereafter.
I was not one of the early registrants on the official forums so I did not get an early invite to the first stages of beta; however, I did register early enough to receive a Beta Application from Sigil -- so at least I am in the queue somewhere.
I hope to get picked for Beta 3 because I am wicked fussy, picky and obsessive-compulsive about games and will really give feedback and info on as many issues as I can regarding the game.
Yeah, I would really be the Beta Tester From Hell -- but in a good way. LOL.
Heh, funny, but I am the guy who, if I see a "resource node" stuck in tree (and therefore non-functioning) a couple feet up and inside the trunk, I won't just pass it by -- I will report it.
If I see a graphical "tear" or "glitch" in the gameworld, I will report it. If I see an exploit, potential exploit, or somebody using an exploit -- yep -- I will report it. (You have to keep your eye on Guilds in the Beta because they will note exploits and deem them their personal property and NOT report them. Sneaky bastards. But, then again, I am even sneakier and will report them for not reporting the exploit. Then they call me the sneaky bastard -- and I guess they would be right to do so!)
Anyway, I hope to see several of the dedicated forum posters from here and from the official forums in the Beta 3 phase.
Pardon me, now. Got to go sacrifice a goat to the Beta Gods, although secretly I believe they would rather have Samuel Adams beer and pizza as a "sacrifice."

lol...yeah i have been signed up for beta since day one, unfortunately for me my computer isn't top of the line so i have been waiting for the moment where they optimize the game to where i can play test vanguard.
and yeah I'm pretty bad with reporting bugs and things, the blizzard GM's used to get sick of all the petitions from me nearly every day, and that was after the game went live lol.

Don't forget they have to invite all the old beta testers first then they have to down load a huge client a sony maybe one and not microsoft as they are no longer in the picture

A friend is in the Beta from the last stage, and he's already DL'd the new ThingAMaJigger... he's a bit busy, but he said he expects to be playing this week... with any luck, we'll be considered by the end of this week...

BTW, the influx of testers into Beta 3 is really hammering the Official Forum causing it to be unresponsive for long periods of time.
I suppose that's a good thing in one manner of looking at it.
I was thinking that new testers might be added this week, but since the old testers have to get into the game first invitations might be postponed till next week.
In any event, invites should be expected "soon" (tm)(marca registrada)(pat. pend.).

hmmm...good point, i never thought about that. i haven't been able to access the ovf for a couple days now, are they downloading right from the vanguard main site?
if so that seems kind of stupid IMO, why not have them dl from fileplanet or something?

Not really sure of what there hardware setup is like, but as soon as they announced that the old beta testers were downloading the new client, WHAM, the OVF became majorily unresponsive -- indicating to a non-technical mind like mine that "server stress" (most likely download stresses) were "smacking the crap" outta the server system.
That's good in a way since it becomes like a mini-stress test. Probably a good thing to do at this stage since their usual tester population, by their own announcement, was around 150 at peak times -- which they felt was enough for what they were testing.
So, me, always the optimist, is now hoping to see an invite to Beta 3 in my e-mail -- or, at least, some people will start getting their invites.
Not sure of how many will be invited, but thinking it will be done in batches up to a total of several thousand, perhaps even as many as ten thousand (wild guess-timate).
Oh, back on topic -- I am pretty sure that since they announced long ago that the OVF will no longer exist (except in a very small and limited way) in the post-release period, I am guessing that worrying about the OFV being sluggish and unresponsive (for a while) is probably NOT a major concern for Sigil.
Frankly, I don't think it would be for me either, if I were in their shoes.
It should correct itself in a few days to a week -- but, it really won't matter because the beta testers cannot post anything of import about the game due to the NDA. Not until Beta 4, that is, when the NDA is supposed to be lifted.
Anyway, excuse me, I have to go back to futilely clicking Outlook Express. It's gotten to be like a very short and boring game of Pong which I keep losing.
