Hello I am new here my name is Gayle but you all can call me Raven(couldnt find an intro thread). well anyway I am kinda new to the MMORPG thing, but I have tried a couple like MS,YPP, RO, and I am now dowloading Trickster. I was thinking the best place to get some good info is a place dedicated to MMO's and I found this place. so here is what I am looking for in a MMORPG (dont know if I'll find it lol)
I dont mind paying a little but I want to try the game first so a free trial is a must

I like cutesy type Char's like MS ,RO and Trickster, I cant stand dark game's

I would like the game to have some fun mini games like fishing,casino,hunting something like you would find in a consol RPG like Dark cloud or breath of fire

it dont matter if it's 2D or 3D

A good community is always a plus

well that's about all I can think of now, so any thoughts on a good game?

oh yeah I dont know if any MMORPG's have it but I also like alchemy like in Eternal Iris

    The only other cutesy type MMOs I can think of offhand are ROSE online, and FLYFF.

    yeah I was thinking about looking in to FlyFF. thank you for replying.
    it dont realy need to be all that cutesy just not dark and I dont like sci-fi

    cool thank's. I finally got it downloaded but now it wont let me create a char

    You could try Dofus, it's pretty cutesy, and it's partly free. It's also played in the web browser and the download isn't too big.

    try second life

    its not like a normal MMO but its not dark..i sugest you read about it before downloading it

    its completely free unless you want to own an island that will cost you about 5000$USD

    go to their main site (you can find it in the MMOlist menu to the left of this screen)

    i personnaly didnt like it. (didnt even get past the character customization)

    Unless you are into lots of adult content including simulated child porn, I wouldn't suggest second life.  That's why I left, it's little more than a virtual X rated 3D chat room.

    I would definitely suggest Ryzom.  I've just recently downloaded the unlimited free trial, and thinking of subscribing.  It's more graphically beautiful than WoW, and I like the game play much better too.

    WoW (World of Warcraft) has 1 char that is 'cutesy' the little Gnomes. They even look a bit like some Pokemon/anime chars lol

    WoW has fishing, and hunting. WoW currently has the most advanced hunting/hunter system out of every mmorpg.


    Tame wild animals, teach them new moves. Tame more wild animals, you learn their moves, then teach them to your first pet. You also have to take care of your pet - yes.. feed it, and feed it the right food. Pets even have a mood indicator. If you don't take care of your pet, it either turns on you, or simply runs away!


    The only RPG type game I know in history that actually had/has casino's where you could actually gamble was Bard's Tale. Actual casino buildings in the city, you can visit. Play Blackjack, etc... Lose your money, and WIN money. Get good at gambling, and you can make a fortune. Alas there are no current plans to make a Bard's Tale online mmorpg.

    With ALL mmorpgs, if one is searching for a 'good community' one should form their own guild, and filter members with simular playstyles, ethics, etc... OR... join a guild that has people who feel the same as you.


    I will say that games like EvE which have an incredible steep learning curve, tend to by default have a more well mannered, mature community, because the steep learning curve of the game filters out the impatient, immature, crowd.

    WoW also has a nice alchemy system. There are two seperate skills any character can learn. Herbalizm, to find the right flowers and plants. Then Alchemy to make stuff out of the plants. You can then sell the finnished product to other players in the Auction House, or use it for yourself. You can find the highest level Alchemy reciepts either for sale in the auction house, or go exploring the game world and find them in chests, underwater treasure, beachcombing, or loot dropped from NPCs.


    You can play WoW for free for 1 month. If you know anyone who already plays it, they can give you the free EXTRA game code that comes with the game. Every WoW game card also comes with an extra game code. You copy the game CD's, then enter the free game code.


    If you don't know anyone who plays WoW,...... send me a message, and I'll see about sending you the WoW game over the internet using AIM. Then I'll send you one of the extra game codes.

    Thank you for all the info on WoW it sounds very interesting and the only reason I havent check it out yet was its a little dark for my tast but from the way you explain it I just might have to check it out.

    as for RPG games that have casino's there are a few like
    Lufia 2
    legend of legaia
    hmmm I know there are more but I cant think right now lol
