So I have a 9 Defiler, and a 6 Paladin on Antonio Bayle (sp?) and a low level Fury on the RP PvP server. At what level do people start talking to each other in this game? The chat channels I am on (1-9 & OOC) are dead all the time and it's just about impossible to group up or people just ignore me when I ask for a group. Does this get better as I level or do I need to join a guild early on? I was trying to hold off to joining a guild so that I can get to know some people and join the peoples guild I usually group up with, when I start grouping with people.

Thanks

I noticed the same thing when I started.  I am on Lucan, there is some chat in the 1-9 channel but it really kiked in in the 10-29 and higher channels.

I went on the RP server to see what people do there (as I rarely, if ever, roleplay: and the non-pvp 'cause I'm a carebear) and there was an hour long debate on how geeky and "losery" it is to RP.  I found that kind of funny.

I agree, though, not a lot of chatter at the low levels.

Yes the newb areas will be dead on old servers.  Frankly once you get your main up, you know all the places to get best xp per time invested and so forth.

Levels in EQ2 however go really fast.  I play casually and one off night i had some extra time and decided to make a pvp character.  in 4 hours I was level 15, i knew where to go and i never got ganked in the places i went.  There are certain quest paths right at the begining of the game that kind of guide the newbs.  Your first time through it will go pretty slow, after that its easy.  This set of quest will get you through your mid teans with decent gear and xp rewards, and the xp from the kills you do.  You dont need a group either, but a dou partner will make it go faster if you can swing that.

Dont guild up early.  Alot of guilds just want warm bodies to make thier guild look bigger to attract others.  Like you say give it time and find others around your level, see if ya like em and thier playstyles are similiar to yours, that is the best way to find a guild.

In the early levels you will be alone most the time.  From 25 to about 45 you will be soloing alot still but you'll start running into more people.  50's will pickup speed with groups to be about 50/50, and 60 + you should have too much of a problem getting a group unless your an unfavored class.
