I tried DnL the day it was released. I log on, and instantly look at the horrible graphics. More than that, I realise my 5 FPS on a incredibly high spec'd computer. In fact, I just got off Oblivion running at full graphics straight to DnL running at 5 fps. I asked around and this was very common for ATI cards. Who knows if they fixed it, but their customer support is horrible so I never got in contact with anyone that was able to help me. As I walk around in the glitched world, I also realise how horrible the consideration system and battles are. They are bland and my character dances while he attacks.
So I give up on battles after dieing 5 times due to crap consideration and battle system. I am looking for a starting quest, but apparently every single NPC in the entire area says "Hello!" and nothing more. No tutorial, no help, no support at all for the newbie. No starting quests.. no quests period! No storyline, no aynthing. Just "Hello!" from the 50 NPC's in the area. You go up a spiraling fort looking thing to find absolutely nothing interactible up there; a completely bland dead world.
Worst game I've ever played. Worse than shadowbane. I can't believe I payed $50 for the game. If there was nothing else, I'd rather play Pong imho

Bwahahahahahaha
Followed DnL since 2003.
Bought a Pioneer Account in November, #1000-something.
Played DnL for two weeks.
Total play time: 4 hours.
Total down time (including time on IRC chat trying to resolve issues): Two weeks minus 4 hours.
Asked Click and Buy for a refund in January and closed Click and Buy account.
Refund finally was processed in March.
Click and Buy charged my closed account (yes, closed) in June.
Legal threats got me a refund in 2 days.
Now I'm just waiting for Farlan to admit they failed (and to stop using the words World of Warcraft' and 'Potential') so that I can give them a big FU and say 'I told you so'.
Plus it seems like Snailgame is trying help it out...dont' think that's possible though

You are talking about Mr. Caille, one of the biggest fortune of the island.
Concerning snailgame, well, they invested 3 million euros in that game, so they don't want to see it fail before they have their money back.
Considering they are going to be the ones in charge of the progression of the story and the quests, I wonder what the role of AD will be in the near future...forum management?
By the way, the chinese version of DnL should be out in spring 2007.
I hope so
we all know what will happen if china and france goes at it though
I believe that is just a rumor. Snailgame is interested in producing a working version of DnL. Practical Asian businessmen would not consider DnL "working". Working is when it is actually profitable. I have a very hard time believing that Asian investers dropped 3 million on DnL prior to a thorough examination and evaluation of the product. I am Vietnamese, and though not Chinese, I have personal experience with the business and investing mentalities of Asian cultures.
Farlan is giving Snailgame the reins of the DnL wagontrain. Behind the scenes money may, or may not be changing hands. But my gut feeling is Snailgame has yet to actually give Farlan/NP3 any cash. Instead, they are providing the 40 new code monkeys as a token gesture. Three months and the guillotine falls. I have a feeling it will happen even sooner.
I'm just reformulating what's written here: http://www.gamesindustry.biz/news.php?aid=9004
