Hmm, one thing struct me recently when I returned to GW from a long, dusty and boring run of various MMORPG's.

GW is now feeling pretty much like Silk Road. Especially the oriental music the new menues in the beginning has.

Is this because Faction was released and faction is taking place somewhere oriental-like? Or is it just me who were pretty much blind when I played it a good while ago when it didn't have all theese features? Hmm.

    Factions is asian based, and yes, alot of changes have probably gone on since you were gone. Nothing else to say really...

    Factions being the latest GW expansion, takes place on a new continent called Cantha which is south of Tyria, and this new continent has an Asian culture. Tyria itself is the same old place. Guild Wars always had that Asian theme anyways, but it looks more stronger in Factions. It also happens to look wonderful. The new main menu screen is there to entice you to buy Factions, and I'm sure the Factions screens will be replaced by Nightfall menus when the new expansion is released in a few weeks.

    But I guess ArenaNet needed to branch out to appeal to their Asian audience, as most MMORPG's do...As did Everquest II with their Asian SOGA models, and Eve Online with it's Red Moon Rising expansion recently which introduced Asian races.

    I just think ANet wants to explore many environments. NF is gonna be more north african style. Its a pretty good thing compare to other fantasy type RPGs where you're stuck in a single style world.

    I'm playing on a German Server an i've noticed lots of asians coming over looking for groups to speed lvl - i'll problably have to learn mandarin to play on a german server
