Vanguard: Saga of Heroes has launched a new website this morning. The new site, which is very much in the style of SOE's community websites is available at www.joinvanguard.com. Below, you will find Brad McQuaid's forum post announcing the launch:

SOE's idea of a community oriented site and a site aimed at attracting new users and introducing them to the game is one we really like. To that end, they put together www.joinvanguard.com and it *just* went live.

The site looks awsome, it's well organized too. Finally we have an official nice looking site. SOE knows what they are doing when it comes to advertising and they do a good job at it. The new site has me all giddy again for Vanguard!

website looks nice but im not so sure its like the planetside and SWG ones aimed at attracting new players but it might to be so usefull to existing ones but im sure they will make a vanguard:SoH Players website.

this is a game i am looking forward to plz dont screw it up $OE

from what ive seen i see it as a kind of cross between SWG (before they destroyed it) and EQ2 i hope that doesnt put anyone off its just my opinion (plz do correct me if its not at all like that : P)

but also i dont know whats under the red writing but if u havnt played the game (which you may have) then i wouldnt judge it so badly (mind you $OE has a reputation)

Any development that shows that SOE cares about it's games in a non-enforcing way is a good thing in my opinion.

Although it really isn't THAT great of a site. At least it links you to the real one.

Anyone else notice in the latest video released for Vanguard the SOE logo appears first, then the Sigil logo.

I'm impressed by the travel page. They have 2 ways of traveling for ground, 2 for water, and 2 for Air which all say comming soon except for horses. Kinda gets me excited waiting to find out what they'll be.

Most likely, 1 air will be dragons/drakes, ground will be walking and horses, and sea will be boats for 1.

But anyways, same old SOE cloned website, I find it pretty boring TBH. Why on earth Sigil would think that's a good idea I can't figure out.

As a side note, you'd think they would want to come up with a better trailer then the one they have plastered on the front page, it's kinda... lame. Is it just me or does it remind anyone of EQ2 in many ways?

As far as I can tell, Publisher logos always appear first.

As far as the continuing "who can bad-mouth SOE the most" campaign, I am not worried about it at all. If there's one thing I've learned over the years, it is that players will complain about developers/publishers and ridicule them, even while they play their games. Rarely do I ever find people who truely appreciate anything for long.

I'm trying to keep a positive outlook, I remain a loyal supporter of SOE, and I am excited about Vanguard:SoH and what Sigil has created for us. If SOE has some impact on that, it's fine with me, they've proved to me in the past that they can be just as good as they have been bad. Unfortunately, people only remember the bad.

yeah i agree trying to get rid os customers by saying SOE wil destroy it is wrong give it a chance there is still good in them!

Im still a station access subscriber i love planetside and eq2 (but i dont play much as my server is under populated) and once the SWG emulator comes out im happy as their biggest wrong will be righted???

and their biggest fault (NGE) was only because everyone kept complaining bout outbalanced classes (which i didnt give a **** about) and so they got rid of all the classes and made one universal NGE_charmodel001 : D

I'll give Sony this they may not have the best MMO's on the market but they do a great job with their websites. To bad that talent doesn't always translate over to the games. This one does hold some promise though.

I'm glad that SOE isn't developing the game. Heck, they are just putting the thing in a box and advertising it for the most part. Sigil handles all the development and staff which is very good in my opinion.

The site is very good and has tons of information. Good job!

I just looked over the whole site and thought that it looked really good. It is definitely an eye catcher and had alot of good info on it. I especially like how they mentioned the late and great artist Keith Parkinson(one of my top four favorite artists) again under the overview part.

The look of this game is based on his artistic vision and is one of the things that has me really excited about it, aside from the obvious fact that I love the features that Brad and Co. are putting into this game.

I am sure that once they add the final touches to the graphics, the game environments will be some of the most interesting and beautiful ever seen in a mmorpg due to Keith's influence. They already look great but its still beta, so alot of polishing is yet to come.

I can't wait to be able to step into the world that Vanguard has to offer.

Im going to have to disaggre with that, EQ amazing game for its time and still going strong, EQ2 still got some of the most sunning graphics on any mmo (but nothing to vanguard : D) planetside a rare type of game mmofps and better graphics than ww2 online with the si-fi factor, matrix online i dont know about because i dont play but hey if ur a matrix fan there must be somthing for you there, SWG was amazing in its earlier days but we wont talk about that.

they may not be the best but there is such a range

Any self respecting player who has been screwed by SOE by the NGE and the CU should not reward SOE with their business. Make SOE pay for their many mistakes and boycott all of thier products

Yeah I'm definitely not thrilled with SoE plastering their name all over everything Sigil's done so far. It's one thing to support someone, it's another thing to buy your way into something big. This whole thing is leaving a bad taste in my mouth about Vanguard. To the point where I might let my buddies check it out for a month before I ask em how it's going.

As soon as they said SOE is involved all my interest in Vanguard dried up. I doubt very much if SOE will keep its nose out of the game if it starts making money, they will want to do things The Sony Way. Of course, this is the same company that "improved" SWG and then added a "combat upgrade" to EQ2, neither of which were needed or wanted.

lol of course you, you absolute tard, they had reasons behind the updates they wouldnt have made thme if they didnt think it would have been good why would they want to ruin their business.

Take the CU for SWG it was actually an exelent think but some idiots left before trying it, it got reid of the uber-buffs that were required to play and could buff low levels to the point where they could take on mcuh higher leveled playrs who trained for ages. it itroduced many new moves and made the GCW much more fun. of corse there were downsides but on a whole i would say it was an improvment

Excellent post Tym. You positive attitude is refreshing and inspiring.

Obviously, Brad and his gang are doing what they do best, and I really hope it works. Undeniable though, Brad left SOE and I hope he won't be having regrets with Vanguard because he's been in this exact seat before.
