I played last night for a couple hours getting to lvl 5 with my W/E. (Yeah I know, a W/M is probably better for PVE, but oh well, I've always liked to be more offensive minded)
Anyone have any tips? I know to save my gold pretty much for decent equipment. Will I pick up any items that are worth selling at this point in the game?

Find the word "Guides" -> "New player guides" Click either "prophecies" or "factions"
I really doubt you'll find anything much better than that, since anything worth remembering that was posted anywhere else has probably been transcribed at that link.
first , all professions are good and play a diferent role , warrior is the one in front , takes care of the agro . only warrior and assassin are melee chars , all the others are casters , ritualist and monk are suport professions , mostly defence skills , but can also be atack. basacly all chars have atack and defence skills.
so there is no best professions for pve or pvp , all play a diferent role.
the magic of making a team build , profession combinations, is where you can reach the playoffs and win 50 k dollars. becose teams are made of a max 8 organized players. the professions and skills choices are very important. makes each profession very important in its task.
