why did u close the other 25 admin they could have been like me and ill probly not win in another beta contest. this is so unfair

    who the hell stays up to midnight on a week day on their PC?i can only think of a few people that do;

    1.geeks

    2.people with out socail lives

    3.you can not find a way out of the room

    damn quit whining and read the rules.  50 are selected and only 25 get beta.  First 25 to respond.  You can guarantee if it is a big beta like this that when they send out the mail (which it is usually at midnight) that it will be filled with 10-20 minutes.  Get over it.  It was a fair contest, it's just you who fell asleep and slept through it.

    well 12am on the east is 9pm here. The reason there was 25 picked out of 50 is to make sure that teh 25 got filled. This is in the Rules if you read them. But, please theres no need to cry or insult the people that did win.

    uhh people without social lives eh?  So what is a social life then on a weekday?  Going out and getting hammered all the time?  Just because people are on computers at night doesn't mean that

    1) They are geeks.  And anyways whats your definition of a geek?  I guess you are putting down admin as well since he was up to start the program to select everyone.  Sorry to tell you the definition of geek is falling out of text nowadays.  Previous definition of geek = one who gets good grades and knows about computers.  Hmm, your pretty much talking about all of Generation X and all generations following them.

    2)Without social lives.  My idea of going and partying everynight stopped when I was 18.  Grow up!

    3) Yes because us "geeks" are so dense that we cannot find a door and turn the knob.

    Once again quit crying, you're not going to get anything by moping about with your pathetic attempts for pity.

    luckly for my timezne it only came around 10:00. I don't have much of a problem with the time however the contest says FRIDAY, not THURSDAY so I do have to say that whoever decided to draw the names early did a pretty dirty thing.

    I didn't win but the site does have their current time, which allows me to judge accrodingly to my time.  They are only like an hr ahead of my time, so it wasn't a big deal.  Doesn't anyone notice the time up top on this site?

    They're 3 hours ahead of me, but the drawing happened yesterday, the on the 12th. It says the 13th on the contest which I find a bit odd.

    To be literal, Midnight 12/13/04 means 12:00am 12/13/04 which means they did the drawing at the right time.

    Unfortunately, I think most people see the term "midnight" to mean "tonight" and thus may have expected it to be and the end of the day 12/13/04. In any case, gratz to the winners.

    once again. read the rules. He did draw on Friday. I believe mmorpg.com is in eastern time so that means 12:00am is Friday to them even it is Thursday to you.  Everyone is griping about how unfair mmorpg.com is being to them.  Take a look at what they are doing.  They are providing a fair chance at a free prize  to everyone just by logging into their site.  It's up to you to adjust your schedule so you can see if you won something for doing absolutely nothing but logging in once a day.

    We draw 50 names, but only 25 can win.  Why do we do this?  To speed up the completion of the contest.  Our early contests only had us drawing the exact number of winners...and we could spend days after the contest getting all the people picked to confirm their prize.  This is not fair for the other winners to have to wait for this process when they want their prize NOW image

    The other ticket holders switch over to *closed* not at a given time, but when the 25th person confirms.

    I hope this clears things up a bit.  I know we are all evil bastards for giving away free stuff and we should probably just be shot image

    Oohh, I get it, my mistake I was thinking of 12:00am as the night of the previous day rather than the morning, my appologies.

    We live in a less then a perfect world, (a round one to be exact), this means that due to people wanting the sun up during the days and the moon at nights they are going to set their clocks to fill that criteria.

    Allthough I would much rather live on say the discworld, but they dont have mmorpg betas so time differential would mean nothing there :)
