Is this game any good?

in Silkroad Online

I was wondering if this game is worth downloading.  I know my frineds play this but they won't tell me anything.  Im playing WoW now andi s wondering how it stacks up with it.

    ur friends won't tell u anything??? what kinda friends are they?

    anyway, u can't compare it with wow. more with lineage 2 (or any other/most other korean game). it does have nice graphics, and even a decent quest system to help you get started, etc. but there is a problem with bots (i heard), community isn't too great due to the tons of mixed languages (i guess). a lot of grinding. point-and-click to walk/run.
    it is cool because it is for free, and u can find some friends of course, but if you do like wow, you might find it difficult.


    simple answer: try it, it's for free. what do you have to loose?

    You can try it but i think you will find it very boring after 10 hours , becouse all you do is kill mobs and there isn't even an actionhouse like in most Korean mmo's ( when will they learn ? :s). If i were u i would stay with wow , you can afcourse test it if you like it becouse the game is free ...

    To my opininon it is the best free MMORPG in the internet. First you kill  only monsters, but then you can act as a trader thief or hunter. This is real fun and when you are boring of killing monsters you can make a trade or rob some other traders ;)

    ive got 2 good char at moment thegame as got a bit slow for me . so i started to play wow for a bit . just go on now and they . that way it dont seem as bad to play . where as befor i was farming for 4-5 hrs even longer some times .

    This game is (as far as i have played lvl 21 beginning trader and thief) very fun, but that is a personal opinion. So let me just tell you what i do and dont like about it.


    I do like:
    - the experience and skillpoint system
    - the graphics
    - the concept
    - the pvp action
    - it's entertaining (Even after I got bored in WoW and Eve)
    - it's free


    I don't like:
    - the semi-frequent crashes
    - the few hours in the middle of the day (GMT-5) where the servers are full and I cannot connect
    - the sometimes difficult targeting system
    - the engrish translations


    I would definately reccomend trying this game out, it's free and fun to play.

    And don't judge the game until you hit level 20. up until 20 its all just quests and grinding. once you hit 20 you actually pick your job, trader hunter or thief (you can even be all 3 just not at the same time)

    once you hit 20 then pvp gradually becomes a bigger part of the game, imagine the scenario where you buy a camel and 170 pieces of silk from one town, then fight your way to the next town, where you will sell the silk for nearly twice what you paid for it, while NPC thieves spawn all around you, even though the NPC's go down fairly easy, you are always watching out for the player thief who will kill you and take all the trade goods you carry.

    i know this may not be for everyone, but i know it was a different feeling than i've had in any other MMO i've played (while im no expert at MMO's), it was definately a good feeling.

    this game is great... the cape dueling where u put on a cape and kill eveyrone else wearing a cape n have no exp penalties when u die or kill others great pet system the wolf help a lot umm great skill point system u sacrifice lvling speed for more skills nice graphics storyline quests the thief hunter trader system is great and rennat if u buy the right stuff u can make almost 4 times wut u buy for when u sell silk to next town and if u go from first town to third town u can make almost 5 times as much if u know wut to buy a lot of ppl have lag and disconnect but not me only bad thing is the bots but GMs alrdy blocked a lot of ppl for botting so its not as bad now its quite fun =) and best of all its FREEEEE!!! definitely try this game out!!

    I would have to recommend bypassing even downloading Silkroad Online; I played the game for a while mostly because I was being too stingy to go out and pay for a game. Once I went and bought a game I could definately tell the differance.  The fun factor being one. Being able to get onto a server to play being another main differance.

    Walk away from the website and do not download SRO.

    this game isnt free...
    cos if u want play it after lvl 30,40 u need that gold scroll and a monkey...
    or if u get bored and go out as trader thief or hunter u get killed with 1 hit. the language mix isnt the problem... but the community sux...
    it isnt a bad game but as others u get bored fast, quests are simple... kill 1500 mobs... no problem with it.
    and yes there are a big problem with bots. and a good friend told me about the dont care alot the ban some bots only to make plp happy. try it like plp said... is free

    That is a total incorrect assumtion. This game is deffinatly 100% free. I do like this game alot. Great Quality for a Free MMORPG. Thats why it has achieved a rating of 8.0.

    I do have to agree though that there are problems with this game.

    1. All servers are located in Asia which makes connection a problem at different times of the day.
    2. The English has gotten better, but there are still minor typo's that they have yet to correct.
    3. Once you make it to lvl 25 it becomes alot harder to lvl up.

    Other then that the game is great. I hope you descide to play it. I know you will enjoy it.
    Also, just to point out... the game currently that we play as silkroad is version 1.056. There is a update or the full game being played in Asia where as we only have 1 third of what they have. America has
    China, Western China, and Some Middle East. In the fill version they have Europe and more parts of Asia available to them. And soon enough everything will be translated and we will be able to have the full game.

    I started playing this games few weeks ago and i have enjoy the game: it's free,it has nice graphics and i have just hit the lvl 20 so i can soon start trading i just wait my friend to hit lvl 20 so i can get good bodyguard::::01:: and we have just started a guild. I say that everyone should try this game ::::19:: but it's pretty annoing that servers are full almost the hole day ::::21::
