Thinking of buying just a question

in Final Fantasy XI

At 19.99 for all expansiona and first month free, even if i don't like it's not a big lost, so i'm gonna go out and buy it.

My only concerns is the control/camera movement since i know this game was pretty much desgined for console play.  Are the control and camera OK for the PC ?  I mean WASD control, standard 3rd person camera ?

    Number pad control 8 is forward. 2 backwards 4 left 6 right.   5 toggles first person. 9 and 3 zoom in and out.

    then arrow buttons with your thumb turn the camera.

    It might've first came out on consol, but that doesn't mean the PC controlls are bad <.< As runic Said use the Number pad, 8 is Forward, 2 back, 4 left, 6 right, 9 & 3 zoom in and out, 7 Is auto run. / is walk or run, * is lock on (When targeting somthing) or rest (when not targeting), + allows settings for options in each menu, - Opens your menu, 0 Toggles through NPC's, Mobs, Doors.. anything really (tab also toggels), You can controll the camera with the arrow keys, or in the options make it stay behind you (Thats kind of a hassle because you can't look around without moving your character).

    I don't want to turn this into a controll argument, but which ever platform you start on, within a few days you'll master it, and after that you'll sware that yours is the best. So it doesn't matter too much, but if you really, really, really don't like it, You have the option of buying a USB controller.

    I use the compact mode. wasd for movement and arrow keys for the camera. the numpad movement was just way to awkward for me. the only time i touch the numpad is to open the command window.

    Im on PC and i got this PSX/PS2 controler hookup adapter for my PC so i use a PSX controler and its great

    i would recomend it to anyone thats on PC
