in Vanguard: Saga of Heroes
Hey guys, I think im gonna be a Cleric/Warrior/Rogue cant decide :) Im excited for this game.

    Will there be anything new about the class system in Vanguard or will it be stantard cookie cutter templates, as in Damage dealer, healer, tank, creature handler and crafter?

    Since in every game I always start with a mage/necromancer class, I ll try to start with a warrior/shadow-knight in Vsoh. Haven't deside what race I'm going to sellect though.

    I'm thinking something like Dwarven Crafter... And some combat skills to make my life a bit easier. But main will be crafter... Tho not sure yet witch one.

    shaman/bloodmage haven't decided yet, it depends on alot and i may change my mind at release, after seeing beta (if i get in).

    I don't think it will be possible for me to choose. It's gonna take longer to choose my racer rather then my class. Ah I cant wait

    there will be paladin in vanguard? if so thats wht ill be as well, im a paladin human barbarian in eq2

    I'm gonna go with one of the healing classes I think, mostly as a way to help my guild get going.  After that, I'll probably  make a mage-type to mess around with.

    Psionicists are Counterspell and Crowd Control specialists and have a Mana heal.

    Bloodmages cast Life Drains and Life Taps and use their own HP to heal their allies

    Diciples are melee healers, they execute martial combo attacks that have the added benefits of group or single heals on your Defensive Target

    Bezerkers are close combat damage dealers that deal more damage when they are injured or taking damage, forcing them to damage themselves or take more damage to be effective.

    Those are some classes that I've never seen before, or seem like they will support play styles I haven't seen. Other than that, Classes are broken down into archetypes: Defensive Fighter, Offensive Fighter, Defensive Caster, Offensive Caster and each of those sub groups have at least 4 classes to choose from with variation within.

    Will have to be a Vulmane Warrior type not sure which tho. I just think they look cool and have a good history.

    a little off topic here, but i noticed something about this thread. most people posting in this thread have very few posts and yet most of them have been registered a while now.

    what this tells me is that alot of you guys are the non vocal vanguard fans, and for all the haters that come to this forum claiming how bad the vanguard community is and how bad vanguards game community will be after release.....take a good look at this thread.

    the majority of fans of any game are indeed the silent, non vocal type and seems to me like this thread reflects the vanguard community more than some thread linked to the ovf where trolls run wild.

    and when the game is actually released everyone will see the true game community. not what a few trolls on the forums lead the haters to believe.

    again sorry about the derail, and to all you non verbal fans that read the forums and don't care to post much (witch i totally understand, i don't even know why i bother posting sometimes ::::07::) see you guys in vanguard, this game is going to kick ass! ::::22::

    Well no-one knows what the community will be like but can only guess. Wether Vanguard will be good, will be a matter of personal taste at the time of release. Personaly I don't go for swords and sorcery, but the people that say it will suck/be great are no different in my eyes.

    Both make a blind prediction or are expressing their hopes/fears, nothing really solid. My only fear is SOE and Brad's track record. SOE for turning everything it touches into a turd, and Brad for staying long enough to get subscriptions up then bailing out when he can get the best pay off.

    Probably going to try out a gnome necromancer or a troll shadowknight. I haven't decided fully. And I hope they alow us to play more than one toon per server if so i would probably have a large varity of toons and classes.

    Agreed, the whole one toon per server isn't too cool. I always start new games as a Mage, or whatever equivalent the game has. Something about tossing a fireball gives me the warm fuzzies.

    Personally I've always gone with a caster class. I've always liked spell casting over stealth or just bludgen it till its dead classes. And if I can play something evil that makes life even better.

    Paladin / Monk / Rogue
    Halflink / Gnome / Vulmane

    probb a Halflink Rogue...
