The three worst companies that i have every seen Is
1.Fileplanet and IGN:They have all this Subscriber Only Shit making you pay to get in a beta and have shitty wait time and poor download speeds unless you subscribe
SOE: We'll we alll no it suck
EA: Its full of crap ruining every MMO you can find and wont even reply to the fanbase of there games
What are you Top three worst companies on your list?
EDIT:I Forgot Limitless Horizens and the reason i hate Fileplanet is i am a cheap skate and cant pay to subscribe
Comments
Call me a sell out but I love Fileplanet; and I pay for a full subscription year round. I get access to all thier beta's and get 700 kb/s+ download speeds on tons of stuff added during the weekday. I think they add like 50 new items every 3 days. The funny thing is I am on fileplanet more then some mmorpgs when I played them.
But I would go:
1. Farlan Group
2. Age of Mourning Creators
3. Turbine
1) IGN.
2) SOE. If you dont like them, it seems like you have no where to go now that they are buying every game comming out in the next 20 years. Their like the clear channel and Ted Turner of gaming.
3) Turbine. lol @ dnd.
For the Horde!
SIGIL: They wrap up lies and they make everyone believe them. Shafting is their principal hobby.
SoE: See SIGIL, yet they doesn't have all the skills of SIGIL in building the frame, but they certainly compensate with one of the best marketing team on the planet.
Turbines: They whore D&D and are about to do the same with LotR.
I discard technical aspects, since the worst companies on technical issues aren't even known to us, they just lack. I take the relationship toward their client aspect as the only criteria mattering here.
- "If I understand you well, you are telling me until next time. " - Ren
1. T-Mobile
2. PC World
3. McDonalds
No annoying animated GIF here!
2.EA: EA failed to complete there games by removing bugs and so forth, now they are killing them off and buying out companys just to destory there work too. see ya DAoC and Warhammer, may you rest in peace.
3. Mourning creaters: other then the greedy basterds of SoE and EA, these people love to steal the money from gamers and give them shitty things as well. They need to be removed off the face of the mmorpg cause of this, along with SoE and EA.
3. SOE The way they butchered SWG and their dealings with their loyal playerbase puts them on this list.
2. EA I don't think they really want to be a part of the MMO market.
1. Turbine Their games never live up to their potential and lately it seems anything they touch fails.
Edit: BTW, I subscribe to Fileplanet and really like it.
EA - they ruined the beloved ultimate sandbox UO and turned it into diablo 2.5. They deliever false promises and hopes and never and cancel projects half way through.
Korean mmorpg makers - They all put grind/work before fun in all their games, mmorpgs are supposed to be about fun i have not found a korean mmorpg that was fun yet.
Why didnt i list SOE? Because SOE still is a strong company they make many mmorpgs and they have a few bad apples but still some very good ones, EQ/EQ2 are still very powerful in the mmorpg world. No matter how much you hate SOE their games can be interesting.
Im bringin sexy back.
3rd worst: Sonly Online Entertainment
2nd worst: Farlan
Worst: Limitless Horizons LLC

*Farlan- DnL. Nuff said.
*Whoever made Knight Online.
*Possibly Wizet.
I will list only 2 companies. Other companies whose games I have been played have been more or less ok. I haven't played Dark and Light, Mournings, Roma Victor, Auto Assault or other lower quality games, but I have heard lot's of bad things from those.
1. SOE. This company is iconic worst. Lucasart was most likely main architect in SWG and they have destroyed their reputation with other bad quality games lately. However, SOE is principal example what happens when psychopathic suits are trying to create fun games. Only reason why this company is still in business is station pass and enough customers who think it is great idea to pay 25$/month from 4 crappy and 1 average games.
2. Artifact Entertaiment. Orginal Horizons Empire of Istaria developer. There was just huge difference between promised features and delivered features.

Oh my God guys....
You all have missed a really obvious one.
AOL - For making a crap load of money for selling very horrible service to internet newbies and they still are today.
DELL - For the obvious if you've ever had trouble with them before.
Turbine - Because I bought D&D...., & yes LOTR Online will be just as bad.
Neptus - FFXI - Pandemonium
Neptus - WoW - Detheroc
1) Sony - All of Sony, not just SOE division. Do I need to even go into detail.
2) EA - For pumping out generic sports titles year after year with nothing new.
3) AOL - I swear I get at least 1 CD in mail from them a month inviting me to join AOL.
Honorable mentions go out to Turbine for ruining D&D Online, Farlan/NPCube (sp?) for Dark and Light, Ubisoft/Wolfpack for screwing up Shadowbane, and Microsoft for cancelling Mythica.
In War - Victory.
In Peace - Vigilance.
In Death - Sacrifice.
1. SoE (Obviously. They can't seem to leave a game alone. Would be fine, unless they didn't manage to make them suck more over time)
2. EA (Knows nothing of the MMORPG buisness, rushes stuff out)
3. NCSoft (america, the korean NCSoft owns, but american NCSoft doesn't know customer service at all).
Easiest 3 choices I've had to make right there.
Assuming we were just talking about companies involved in game development....
1. SOE - for reasons everyone knows
2. Sigil - for selling their souls to the devil
3. FASA - for letting mechwarrior die
I would also like to give honorable mention to any developer that chooses to slap it's fans in the face by associating themselves with SOE. Allowing them to publish your game is a passive acceptance of the way the do business, and how they treat their customers. Sigil gets the special nod among these companies for having first hand knowledge of the way SOE operates and dealing with them anyway.

HBO, Time Magazine, Warner Bros., Castle Rock Entertainment, CNN, Sports Illustrated, People, Popular Science, Outdoor Life, DC Comics, AOL, ICQ, Winamp, Cartoon Network, TBS, TNT, the Atlanta Braves, New Line, and Netscape, are just a few of the things this company owns/controls, and yet they still manage to fuck up. Probably the only people on Earth that can own movie studios, magazines, book labels, internet technology, TV stations, and a sports team, and still manage to loose billions of dollars.
IGN - Over the years they have managed to secure the minds and hearts of a plethora of video game enthusiast, by feeding them tasty bullshit. Starting up rumors, pissing on awesome games and spoon feeding the worse games ever made are their speciality. Their forums are ran like a demilitarized zone, either you obey their every wish, will and command, without a single falter, or you loose at life.
Wal-Mart - I always hear people sob the story of "I dont know what we would do without Wal-mart." I have an answer to that, shop elseware. Wal-Mart likes to pick of the over abundance of illegal immigrants in America and put them to work for half of the minimum wage, so they arent burdoned with to much tax and paying legal workers decent amounts. We all know how much Wal-Mart is suffering in the bank department. Speaking of banks, Wal-Mart now has their own bank, soon to be located in all the supercenters. It will be open 7 days a week, and deposits will go through the second the transaction is completed. Not only are they trying to Monopolize the retail business, but public banking as well.

I am not defending them, because i couldn't really care less either way... But why do you REALLY dislike walmart? The thing about paying illegal immigrants less than minimum wage is simply not true... and I think you know it. I'm sure they employ a few illegals, but it is too big a company to get away with paying them less than minimum wage. There are probably plenty of reasons to hate the company... I just don't think that is really a valid one.

1.SoE- the company that likes to bait and switch after they take your money and your time
2. MMOcenter-the company that took preorders for the Chronicle(vaporware) and won't refund it
3.RedBedlam-the company that took preorders for Roma Victor(incomplete and Bug ridden) won't refund monies either
Dishonorable mention 4th place.- EI Interactive- the company now in charge of Horizons which is charging for a supposed free trial and not refunding it

Three worst companies? Let's do two lists here, one for the real world, one for video games.
Real World List.
1. Any oil company. Claiming expenses and supply shortage, yet announcing windfall profits every quarter = evil.
2. Domestic car companies, namely Chevy and Ford. They used to make good cars. Now you pay top dollar for a no style, shiny POS.
3. Wal-Mart. No comment.
Video Games List.
1. SOE: Bait and Switch, false promises, and forgotten development plans.
2. Turbine for taking a huge dump on the D&D name with its crappy game.
3. IGN: Advertising dollars always seem to lead to a good game review, despite how crappy the game really is.

Reading those articles, it appears that none of those illegals were employed by walmart, but rather were employees of several janitorial services walmart contracted to clean the stores. they settled out of court to avoid bad publicity, and they are in the process of replacing the contracted cleaning crews with workers employed directly by walmart. I agree that they have some moral responsibility in overseeing the practices of companies they hire, but they have no more legal responsibility that if you find out your lawn-care service is employing illegal immigrants. Again, I am not arguing the original point, that walmart is a bad company.... just the specific reasons you gave. I have hijacked this thread enough. If I don't respond to any follow-up you post, it doesn't mean I didn't read it

1. Haha yeah have to agree with you there, brother. Although I like the interface of the DLM

Real World
1. The pan-handling industry... They sit there, shake a cup and make money, those scammers!
2. The music/radio industry- For producing/creating hip-hop and allowing it to be played on the radio and in Old Navy.
3. Old Navy- See "The music/radio industry" above.
Gaming
1. Jagex- runescape ftl
2. Blizzard- I don't really think any other companies really do suck, but I am a WoW hater... Boo blizzard!
3. U.S. Government- For creating America's Army and sending me to online prison for accidentally killing my entire squad with a sniper rifle.
