EVE is what you make of it. Go join a pirate corp on the fringes of 0.0 or join a corp in a npc 0.0 region like curse, plenty of targets to shoot and get shot at from
Hmmm hard to say what's worse... seeing another EVE thread pop up or seeing the EVE fans come rabidly defend their game. (And, sorry boys, you're not any more intelligent than the OP, you just like a different style of game).'

Exactly.
"Speaking haygywaygy or some other gibberish with your mum doesn't make you foreign." -baff
Most people that tend to summarily dismiss EVE as "OMGBORING" don't seem to understand that there isn't any hand-holding or linear progression to an end-game. If all you do is mine or expect to do a whole bunch of "quests" and level up, then yeah, you're going to get bored. The best part of EVE is in the political intrigue between corporations and alliances and the conflicts that ensue. The way I see it, the game is continually getting better in most areas and the new Kali content coming up seems really neat. When you get into a game like EVE or The Saga of Ryzom you have to remember to make your own fun. It's a lot more like Legos than Monopoly and prospective players should keep that in mind.
Is EVE perfect? Absolutely not. There's always room for improvement in any game.
Good for you, no one cares you didnt like the game, lots of people dont, but thousands do.
Maybe if you thought more beyond the bounds of just grinding in an mmo you would have found somthing to do, idk perhaps like missions, pvp, harvesting.
Eve is not about grinding, its about the community, and you will get no where in the game if you dont get involved with the community

It's because you're not mature enough for Eve. It doesn't matter that the game is boring you should look past that and pay to play it for at least a year even if you're bored out of your mind. Eve wasn't made to be fun, it was made to make you feel superior to those morons who play fun games.
If you like run and gun with no real goal, then i guess eve isnt for you. Game takes time, thats what so appealing to me. Ive been playing since beta 2 and have never been "bored"

Cause you know… No one should ever stick up for a game being attacked for the simple reason that people think it’s a better game then WoW.
Lets face it that’s what this is really about. A bunch of MMO noobs can’t handle the fact that a majority veteran players think EVE is a better game. This causes them to invent reasons why WoW isn’t ranked higher then every other game and ignore the simple one, the people who frequent this site don’t think WoW is good enough to be a top ranked game.
If someone is going to post an opinion on a public forum they can expect to have that opinion challenged by anyone who disagrees with it. This is not only their right but the right thing to do, and you should not be trying to suppress that counter opinion. If you must blame someone blame the OP and the faction that supports him, and if the WoW players out there don’t like being on the hook for these threads then they should get the other WoW supporters on this site under control.
For the record the only one of these two games I play is WoW. I can appreicate the quality of EVE but the PvP + sandbox style does not appeal to me. It's still abundantly clear, however that no other game on the market at the moment does as good a job implementing it's own stye of play as EVE does, which is probably why it has the top rateing.
Cause you know No one should ever stick up for a game being attacked for the simple reason that people think its a better game then WoW.
What's happening here is idiots making several anti-EvE threads a day because they know its guaranteed that their pro-EvE counterparts will rush in to "defend" their favorite game. Flamebaters have it so easy around here its not even funny.

Well, honestly..any topic that begins with the word "Eve", and takes place on mmorpg.com pretty much puts an end to intelligent discussion.

Anyone notice all the EVE fans all say the same thing? Always 'go to 0.0 space/join pirate corp' then you have fun what about the rest of the game??? Plus I didn't really like spending a day to rebuild stuff after I get blown up cause of some silly reason.
Honestly i tried EVE - I got furiously bored - I tried to like it after playing it for a couple of weeks but i could never get into the groove of things - it's for those hardcore MMO sci fi players - i'm not knocking this game just not my cup of tea

Its true, immature players mostly just want a game to mindlessly pvp and get uber, deny it all they want they're only lying to themselves. Eve takes a diffrent approach, allowing you to really live another life, you make your decisions and get involved with others in a world were players decide what happens, theirs practically no grind, and you dont have to play if you dnot want to get skills. The game introduces a whole new idea that i think future mmo's should try to create.
Some people just arent man enough to enjoy this great game sadly. *sigh*

No no no no no no no, it's annoying. I hate turn based strategy games, if they aren't on an epic scale(Like, Hearts of Iron for example). Moving 100's upon 100's on infantry/tanks/ATG's/Armored Vehicles/What not, on to little squares.. Makes it feel like an game of chess, just takes alot longer, and is way less fun.

At least you tried it, this game is defenintly not for everyone. However its not impossible to get into the funk of the the game.
I dont know if the game is hardcore....takes time getting a decent ship up and running yes, but you dont even have to play to get to that point with offline training, i only play 1-2 hours a day because of work and im usually just laying under the coffee table when i get home.
Also you need to be creative imo to really enjoy this game, you dont have to do what everyone else is doing to have fun. Roleplaying also adds more fun if your into that =D

Plus I didn't really like spending a day to rebuild stuff after I get blown up cause of some silly reason. sd The EVE fans say it b/c 90% of the players that complain it is boring are those that have been conditioned by other MMOs to think that the only way of advancing their character is by grinding npcs or grinding resources. So when players complain that they quit EVE b/c all they did was run NPC missions and mine astroids (15% of the gameplay) it is of no surprise that the EVE veterns will suggest to the bored player to do some of the other activities that make up the other 85% of EVE's gameplay.
The thing about the other 85% of the gameplay is that they are usually accessible and entertaining when you are in a corp and are able to collaborate on those gameplay elements. That's why the recommendation is to get out of the noob areas and into the vetern playground (i.e low-sec and 0.0 space) and make some friends that has similar goals to yours (i.e. Corps). Unlike the other MMOs, there aren't any NPC quests that will advance your character and lead you to where the vets hangout. In EVE you're going to have to take the initiative to seek those out yourself.
