WTF woah, hold on. Did they go crazy? Pod has been in the dicitnary years before they even thought up an ipod. Why would they want legal rights to a word like that? That's like me having legal right's to the word ninja.

Meh, this just reminds me when Microsoft tried to copyright the WORD "Windows" and it was tossed out of the courts like so much trash.
"What is it I have against Microsoft, you ask? Well, you know how you feel when you wait for an MMO to come out and when it does you feel like you've paid to play it's beta test for another 6-9 months before anything even thinks of working the way it should? Being a network engineer you feel that way about anything Microsoft puts out."

ipods are just a fad. remember what walkmans and discmans were 10 years ago? where they now? when the another format for music becomes popular ipods are going to end up in the same way.
If this is a True article, then I doubt it will last any time in court. If I was a member of the court when they are trying to lay legal rights to the word Pod, I would get kicked out of there so fast, because I couldnt hold myself back from laughing.

iPods may be just a fad but you think that when the new music playing device comes out, apple is just going to give up and stop making products? Next it might be the biPod or something, who knows? "Surround sound in the palm of your hand" or something ridiculous like that.
Originally posted by Vanillacream This is just sad. Apple better start chilling out. I bet the next thing is to stop National Geografic using the word next...
