Just curious, why are you proud to be a Republican? Do you like intrusive government? You like a bloated government? Do you like a party that has sold out to special interests? Do you enjoy a party who's only excuse for their wrongs is to point to other major party and say, "well they're doing it too."?
If you believe in the true American ideals that were outlined by our founding fathers and that were fought for during the American Revolution, then how could you vote for Republicans or Democrats?
Neither one of those two parties are behind what America originally meant.

America originally had no political parties.. look how we've changed.
I usually just vote on how I feel towards the relavent issues being discussed. I do not vote with either party because I feel they are the be-all-end-all of what is true or right. There are some issues I lean democratic and some things republican...so I just trust to my gut feelings.
I think it was a comedian who asked "Why do we have 100 choices for Miss America and only 2 choices for President." Our political system has its many flaws, but we have to do the best we can with it. I mean I love my popular vote being being over-ruled by the electoral college and all but...ahhh never mind.
I think we should just vote for Zaphod Beeblebrox for Galactic President...make it easy.

Sure we did. Federalists and Anti Federalists? Democratic-Republicans and Whigs?
Washington and adams didnt, but everyone since then did. I do find it funny how democrats and republicans have all but swapped names since the early days...

There are a heck of a lot more political parties in the US than those three.
I do not affiliate with any particular party, though I am mostly liberal with a heavy focus on TOTAL seperation of Church and State.
