There are four new screenshots that were just released. I personally think the game has come a long way and looks very nice. Kudos to Sigil. :)

OMG! A Phoenix! OK, what class can get that? I don't care if the game sucks I'm playing it for a month to strictly get a phoenix.... I'm such a tool.

It shouldn't be that rough.  It runs on a heavily modified Unreal 2.0 engine.  So the setting are like

    Minimum

    2.0 ghz processor

    512 mb ramm

Nvidia 5700 or ATI 9200 or better

    10 GB hard disk space

    Recommended

    2.4 ghz processor

    1024 mb ram

Video card with Shader 3.0 support

    10 GB hard disk space

Sigil seems to be very thurough in making sure they aren't chugging down a system.  There are LODs and MIP maps to help with this; so you can enjoy the 6 mile draw distance.  Also there is seperate in-door levels.

10GB! damn! and i though ryzom was big 5.3GB

but ram issnt bad at all, but the graphics... seems high. put a full war scenario (50people +) or a market district? (100-200 people) in the same are it will be like posted above, a "slide show"

yay!!! 100 posts! (i could have done better for my 100th post...)

You think 10 gigs is bad? I heard the beta was around 15 gigs total. I'm sure that will come down upon release however.

The game "LOOKS" fine, it's the craptastic character animations that makes it ugly.

How would you know about the animations? Have you played it yet?

I'm looking at this game as another failure in the MMORPG department.  Why?  Because it's been headed up by SoE in the end (regardless that Brad McQuaid and Ex-EQ1 guys developing it)  SoE RUINS every game it touches.  EQ1?  Went downhill the last 2 1/2 years.  Planetside?  Junk.  SWG?  The force was NOT with this one after a year.  EQ2?  A ghosttown of a game vs. the original after the same amount of time.  The only US game currently that is healthy is WoW.  It's sad, I know.  a game such as WoW could stand to lose 1 million customers and have that million split up into 1/3's and sent to 3 different DESERVING games and we'd all be happier in the end.  Perhaps not tho.... it's  Vivendi Universal is to Blizzard, what SoE was to Verant (makers of EQ1).

    D.

So many games, so little time!

It does look -VERY- EQ2esque.. which isn't necessarily a good thing.

I hate SOE as much as everyone else but I have to disagree with you on EQ2

Ive been playing EQ2 since release and its as crowded as it was in release.

During the weekdays all servers are medium and PvP servers are heavy and during the weekend everything but two servers are heavy. They have probably around 14ish servers

...and no....they didn't "doctored" the server pop hehe

People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.

Watch the vid they just released. Dont' give me that. "it's only a vid" or "they are improving the animations in a newer version of the game". That's all well and good, but they look like shit...now. Don't release a horrible video if you don't want people to dump all over it.

It's fine to be excited for a game, but don't route for it blindly.

Enigma, perhaps you've forgotten the server merge that EQ2 went through not too long ago? You know why it happened? Because EQ2 didn't draw in the numbers SOE expected, and they ended up with more servers than they had people to adequately populate. Hence, they reduced the number of servers.

So, yeah, I'm sure it does seem just as crowded now... if you cut the number of servers, that'll happen.
