How many players in each MMOG?

Does anyone have a list or something with how many players there are in WOW, Guild Wars, EVE online, DDO, EQ2, DAOC etc?

Could be fun to see the difference between them. I could probably try to find out myself and compile a list but lets face it. Im too lazy.

so if you got some link or something, plz tell

Unsurprisingly, WOW tops the charts, one thing that is interesting is that Lineage2 never got anywhere near its predecessor.

i think many lineage player feel equally as eq players, that #2 isn't as good as the first, perhpas therefore.

oh, and the big player base for lineages come mainly from asia, i believe?

I chould have sworn GW was number 2... and I don't see it on the list.

Well, Guild Wars doesn't really have subscribers, so it's hard to list how many people are paying to play the game when you don't have to pay to play it. All he could really do is list the number of Box Sales for GW.

Guild Wars doesn't have subscribers ;)   There's no telling how many people actively play it.  It's sold somewhere in the realm of 3 million copies but how many actually play is anyone's guess.

High numbers do not indicate a better game....

Witty saying to amuse you goes here.

not better game, but obviously more popular and more in terms of what people want?

betamax video was better than vhs, and still vhs made the race... well, now it's dvd.... and the same race is with blue-ray, etc. etc. will the better one "win"? no necessarily. it's all a matter of marketing (and probably lobby)....

not what people want, but what the majority of the population can play, a 10 year old will have hard time in eve but will be a god in WoW...

more numbers mean more subscriptions = target audience was larger. i doubt that eve online targeted 10-13 year olds.

I entirely agree, all the high subscription number in WOW means is that there are a lot of people out there with extremely different priorities in terms of gameplay than me, not surprising considering im nearly a decade older thant the average WOW player

GW is not on the list because it's not an MMORPG. In explaining this decision, Sir Bruce quotes GW's developers' own opinion that it's not an MMORPG.

The number of subscribers only matters in a marketing/money sense.

Otherwise, I think Eve online wins in terms of gaming with it's 28,000 playing in the one world online at the same time. (this was last week sometime)

28k is how many accounts were active not how many subscibers...the real numbers wont be known, but with 2-3-4-and up to 7 accounts controlled by one person...you see where I am going.

I doubt you have any idea how old the "average" WoW player is besides baseless bias and asinine conjecture.
