I don't mind if they base it on the book, the movie or the man in the moon. I have no emotional ties to any of them. If the game seems fun, I'll give it a go. If it doesn't work out, I'll move on. I read the books as a child and saw the movies, (all but one on DvD) and quite enjoyed all of them. They weren't life changing or anything, though, so I don't have any expectations as far as keeping all the lore straight... neither book or movies, as long as the story line is interesting.
I was never a Star Wars fan and, in fact, didn't even see the last one. I gave it a pass because all the others were so dreadful. The plots AND the acting. I love Ewan McGregor but I doubt HE even believed himself in those films. I never read a Star Wars book and I'm not even sure the original was based on a book. But I liked the game in beta and early release. I had good fun in it for quite a few months.
I'm hoping this title and some of the others that are lined up to be released in the next few months or so are decent. I'm pretty bored with what's out there now and only have a couple of beta tests to fiddle with right now. I'm looking forward to playing a more complete, released game.
Turbine is developing a game based upon someone else's IP. Yeah, so pretty much this game is gonna suck...didn't we see this scenario play out just a few months ago?
