Starcraft 2 Email

Thinking about SC2, I emailed Blizzard, even though I knew I would get no response or an auto-response. At least that was what I thought...

So I check my email and there it was - a real response from Blizzard. You would think he would say he isn't aloud to say anything, but he said that right now they are focusing on other games, but they definately plan to bring back the world of starcraft as starcraft 2.

Maybe i'm late on news if it was announced, but just in case -- this is the real thing ;) The only thing he wouldn't tell me was when exactly it would be.

    It was a few months ago, but seeing rumor section I had to post it. I tried performing a search through my inbox, but it must have been before my cleanup, so of course no one is going to beileve me now. But if they responded to me, maybe they'll respond to someone else as well. Go ahead and try it and let me know if you get the same response. If you are too lazy I'll try it again if you'd like. I sent them an email with the petitiononline page requesting starcraft 2 when they sent me that reply.

    THEY BETTER BE MAKING ANOTHER STARCRAFT! I don't care what genre (preferrably RTS or MMO).

    Well, when they responded it sounded like they were talking about literally starcraft 2 (I assumed they were, at least), a remake of the original as a rts, although a MMO would be sort of neat too lol.

    I would be very excited if this came out next year. I've had every other Blizzard game but the most one I play will always be Starcraft.  I'm suprised you actually got a reply from Blizzard. They never said anything to me when I lost my Diablo 2 character.

    Penny arcade made a strip about a Starraft 2 awhile back, though they never announced it officiall,y I believe there has been heavy rumor comming from Blizzard about starting a World of Starcraft in 20??.Though I really wish they wouldn't mess with Starcraft as I have heard that most people who worked on SC origionally have moved on. And a secual to either Starcraft or Diablo would, in my opinion end badly as they would never be able to live up to the legacy left behind by their elders. Not that the games would be bad but the sheer fact that Starcraft has been played by nearly everyone with a computer, a sequel would never live up to the first.

    I'd be stoked to see it come out next year too, but no way.  That's actually kinda disappointing news to me, I always expect Blizzard to be really secretive, so I was hoping SC 2 was in the works already but they were being really quiet about it.  But yeah, a starcraft mmo would be cool too (that april fool's day thing was MESSED UP), I'd be a marine all the way.  I'll take whatever sc i can get though.

    It would be so awsome to see a StarCraft 2 come out. I wouldnt mind if it was a MMO, but it would be awsome if it was a RTS. My guess would be for end of 2007 or around 2008.

    Most fans of Starcraft are more ravenous than folks of any other Blizzard games out there!  So, I'm SURE they're working on SC2, but are being very, very closed about any info on it because of such a tremendous reputation they've got going with the original SC1.  I'd give them 6months to 1 year before we honestly see ANYTHING based off of it....even an official "Yes, we're working on it..."  reply.

    Besides, why announce anything when they've got their current cash cow, World of Warcraft and it's 1st official expansion pack TBC coming out in the next couple months?  Don't need to have anything possibly eating into those sails till long after thy've milked everything dry!

    I'd like to see StarCraft 2. I have been waiting a long time for a sequal and Starcraft is still one of my favorite games. I wonder if they are gonna add anything to it or just stay with the three races.

    If they do indeed finally create the game we are all waiting for as Starcraft 2, I am hoping that they make it an RTS as they were planning on and a good majority of the people are expecting.  Warcraft has had three sequels, each with their own expansion, and yet Starcraft has only had one iteration and one expansion. 

    If they indeed decide to go MMO, then they had better make it very good.  Making it titled "World of Starcraft" would be inane, as in Starcraft the gameplay takes place on multiple worlds, so the MMO version had better account for this.

    If only it would come out sooner, whatever the outcome...
