I just like to get two sticks of PC3200 when i buy ram.
Kingston, Crucial, or Corsair i suggest for the average machine.
I think when it comes down to quality vs quantity.. i always choose quantity when buying RAM, especially when im on a budget, but thats just my preference.
Kwl, thats pretty cheap to, but someone that reviewed it said it wasn't that good. Just makin sure its good for gamin? All right, if it is, it's perfect ^^ thnx
"great stability, but would not recommend to serious gamers or overclockers. this is not the one you should be looking for "

Heres a slightly cheaper PC 2700 but 2.5 CAS and 89 Votes and still 4 stars
I forget what kind i bought but i got two sticks of PC 3200 with a 5 star vote rating and 80+ votes .. it might have been Crucial ..... err i dunno but shop around a bit. youll find the right one .. look for the ones in the 80-100 price range. ... pc3200 i recommend
err i have to go, but if you end up buying two sticks .. put them in every other slot on your mobo (dual channeling) (im not a computer wiz and i dont know if this info is correct .. i just remember someone telling me this when i built my pc ... hope someone can confirm)
OCZ and Corsair are probably making the best ram on the market right now, If you're going to go with kingston ram go with the Kingston hyperX ram it has more memory bandwith and will run at higher clock speeds.I also recomend going with the dual channel ram if you're looking for system performance (just make sure you're mobo suports it). Just make sure it IS dual channel ram, it will come in a matched pair and will actually say ''DUAL CHANNEL" and the ram packaging. The 2 links to ram provided in the post are not dual channel ram.I would also recomend going with 1024 megs of ram, 512 just isnt enough for a top of the line system anymore.
NP..Here is a link to a dual channel set of ram,256 x 2 for a total of 512 megs, 512megs and here is another link to 2 512dimms for a total of a gig of dual channel ram,1gig, i believe you can also over clock this ram without too much effort should you see the need to in the future.
There is also ECC memory. This memory basically has error-checking built in and is quite expensive compared to non-ECC. But you need to make sure that your motherboard supports it before you buy it!
