For everyone who thinks we're just whining, and that SOE's only made one or two mistakes, it's much bigger than that. One or two mistakes on a few games we can forgive. They've done nothing but lie and treat us like s**t from the start. And that "little" mistake over at SWG cost a lot of us over a year's worth of work and a sickening amount of money (how many times have you read about someone canceling 7 accounts?). Throw that in with a history of selling incomplete expansion packs and using the profits to fix them and the worst CSR in the history of MMOs, and now you've got a company worth hating.

I was reading the SWG forums yesterday and someone posted one of their CSR tickets. In the response the CSR mentioned several things that aren't even in the game anymore. And to make it worse, it was just cut and pasted from a game website. That's not help. In fact, it makes things worse because instead of looking for a way around the problem were stuck waiting for a response.

Because no intelligent company would give any thoughts on the opinion of a handful people when their are 1.000.000 of happy customers. You should have learnt, that the hardest thing is, to make it everybody right, didn't you?

So the opinion of some fanboys don't count.

I have no idea what your point is.... and i read your post 3 times.  If you are saying that only a handful of people are unhappy with SOE... then I disagree.  I think a significant portion of this community sees them in an unfavorable light. I personally hate to see that this interview was all sunshine and roses.

Off topic, are those everquest ads on the front page new?

I don't belive a word they say either.  As a loyal VET of SWG for 2 years I won't play another SOE game for a long time.  And I do think that MMORPG.com should ask them, "Why should SWG vets play another SOE game?  How can anyone trust you".

Holding a pillow and a sheet, closing your eyes, sucking your toes and saying everything is fine doesn't resolve a problematic.

And you are wrong.  SoE does listen to a MINORITY of vocal online players.  They damage their game by visiting websites like FoH and so on.  SoE lack the discerning ability to make the difference between a minority opinion and the majority.  For instance, me I am a hardcore grouper, I TRY to encompass the ideas of the casuals, but I would not claim that I succeed, I TRY however, unlike some other peoples happily enforcing raiding in every game they have.

Basically, SoE listen to the WRONG players, a little minority who is unable to do anything in LIFE and somehow manage to keep SoE believing they are right, that they have the good ideas, which is incredibly flawed and mistaken...

But all this is sooo pointless, BioWare is coming and they doesn't have to listen to players, they know what is FUN and they work hard and they play hard!  Will BioWare be enforcing lame gameplays?  Nope, I don't know anything about their MMO in developpment, but I know them well enough to know that they won't be doing the same enforcing mistakes.  WoW should have break the 10 millions players by now, if you look at the general qualities and everything...but enforcing Raiding and PvP seriouly hinder them and destroy their fanbase in the long term.  Instead of reaching the 10 millions customer, they are LYING about 6 millions current subscribtions, they don't have 1/3 of the 90 millions they should if they have 6 millions subscritions.  Oh well, too bad for them, and great for their competitors!

Not every interview we do is about SWG and if you check back to our CES coverage, he already answered questions on games like SWG for us.

While I agree with this, I just wish it didn't end sounding so much like a press release.

To be fair most interviews ARE a press release, it's just SOEs always SOUND like a press release.  I can just see a guy in a suit with a big white smile whenever I read anything from SOE.

Is my view of you incorrect SOE?  Well whos fault is that?

Hahaha I read that also.  O it was for a quest that was supposable "fixed"

Now ot,  Wheres the interview at?  I click on link and page not found.

It says it was posted 8/18 and today is 8/20,  should I go post something in the "rumors" forum

"To be the worldwide leader in online entertainment; and to expand our company through the development of high-quality, industry-leading entertainment, software and services, while fostering an environment of empowerment, creativity and commitment. "

You've got to be kidding me! All I see is poor quality and bugs, incomplete games and releases as well as the stripping of all empowerment and creativity from the community. I wish they would just give up already, throw in the towel.

Sony is not the company it used to be. It has now been boycotted from my home.

So it seems the link works again.

I like this part of the interview the best...........

    Chris Kramer:

Well, we do have a few other things in development here that we haven't spoken too much about. There are two other huge projects in the works for '07 and '08 that we haven't quite announced yet. If you carefully analyze some of Mr. Smedley's blog postings from the last few weeks, you might find a clue or two. We're looking at turning the world of "MMOs" on its head, and quite possibly throwing that phrase out the window altogether.

Must say, youv'e made a good start with SWG, Its just an MO now.  How bout the RPG part of games they throwing that out the window also!
  • BissrokBissrok Member Posts: 1,002
When he's talking about "turning the world of "MMOs" on its head", do you think he's refering to their new game, "Cash Money Chao$"?

    I like to think so.

SOE is the autodealer that gives u a Lada when u bought a Limo.

How can u trust ppl like that?

Give us what we paid for and we can talk business again. SWG WAS the biggest MMO out there and most mature.

    *knockdown dizzy*

    Wumi - SWG - Bloodfin - Cancelled
    Wumi - WoW - Eu-Kazzak - Cancelled

I'm getting really tired of these interviews. I fully understand that if tough in-depth questions are asked putting the marketing/PR excecutives in a hot spot, they might not do another interview with this site, but enough is enough. Ask the tough questions, don't insulate them in sweet innocent questions.

Please keep in mind what the person does. We could have asked "Are you doing classic SWG servers" or "Has your experience with SWG made you guys add a policy on redesigning launched projects", but we were talking to the Director of Corporate Communications. He wouldn't be the person to ask that later question and we already asked that first question in a previous interview.

Questions need to be appropriate to the person answering them. Had he been, for example, in charge of PR for SWG we may have asked him stuff more like this.

PS: For those noting the article disapearing, there seems to be a bug in our system. Reload it a couple times and it should pop up.

      Hey Dana,

You are right not to ask another question about the status about SWG to Kramer , but not voluntering any information about SWG future while rattling off all the other wonderful things going on at SOE seems like a little - no I would say pure avoidance on Kramers part.  One could easily read into to it.
