The Shadows of Yserbious

Just wondering if any readers of these forums remember  this game and the old Sierra Network ?? It was online before the internet was accessible by everyone and WAY before EQ. You could play it on or offline like Diablo.

Lol sorry just remincing(sp) and feeling old !! :)

Are you trying to make me cry?  Yes, I remember.  I also remember going around a corner and people pretending to have sex.  EVERYWHERE.  I used to think... they  have that Larry Land... why not just go there?  hehe.  It was good fun though and hilarious trying to dodge the perverts!

(No offense if you used to be a TSN pervert )

I didn't know that game. dustyfog, do you remember in what year it was released? I couldn't find much info about it :)

I did know the original Neverwinter Nights tough, the 1991 AOL game. More info here.

I had to be careful.  I had a very young, very smart nephew who could read exceptionally well, and he loved to watch me on the computer.  I was always careful to listen to what people were saying.  Some of it was pretty raunchy.  This is why I never let them play any of my online games alone.   I dreaded the "what is a XXXX?" questions!  As careful as I was, I still got a few of them.

Anyway, I'm not entirely sure what year, but wikipedia says 1992.  I was there from day one but I had a friend who worked for a TV station and somehow got me a freebie.  It wasn't until not long before it shut down that I started paying myself and, by then, they had an unlimited plan option that wasn't too bad.  Still a bit more than MMOs today.  I guess that's why I think they're cheap and don't complain about the price.  Same with car petrol since we've moved to the states.  It must be about four times the price in Britain.  The hubby and I just sort of giggle when people say how expensive it is.  hehe.

I rememeber playing it on one of those free trial accounts. Fortunately they came out with the standallow version later on and it's sequel. I spent most my time playing Red Baron personally though.

I actually stayed on The Sierra Network even after it became ImagiNation , i only quit after 5 years because my puter would no longer handle it . i wish now i had kept TSoY and its sequel but i gave them away when i sold my first computer.

Yes it was expensive, but it was fun.  I also was playing go from time to time when I wasn't using other go servers.  Too bad what happened in the end...
