So yesterday I finaly got this game working. It was having a problem with my dual monitors, so I simply took the other one offline :P.
Anyways, I started up the game and for the first 10 minutes I was confused as crap. I quickly closed out of the game (after dying for the 50th time) and said "screw this crap, it sucks".
Than, after being bored, I decided to try again. I got on, and actualy started to do good. It was about then I gave my friend the "go" to download as well.
But than, something happened to me that I had not seen on any game. I was just killing some of the begining mobs when this guy pops up out of nowhere. He starts to talk to me, and asks me if I have any questions, ect. ect.
So of course, I thought it was just some random NPC. I double cllicked him to read what he had to say, but it initilized the trade? I canceled and said "oops", to which he replied too. To my amazement it was a gm! He asked if I needed to figure out anything, and I said that I think I would be fine after trying out EVE
. He sort of chuckled, than told me to simply /petition if I have any questsions, and flew off in a second.
Than, just about now I was running around on Rubi-Ka 2 when someone was sort of KS'ing us. Me and my friend started to get pissed, when suddenly, the traded. I kept closing out of it until my friend is like "holy crap!". I look at the trade, and I was getting traded 70k.
I don't know how much that's worth, but compared to the ... like 500 I had before it was amazing. I belive that person is around these forums somewhere (kira?) but we thanked her and went along our way.
Anyways, I must say i'm having a good experience so far of the game. Deffinitly goes to show you can't judge the book by it's cover
.

Yep, i was imrpessed when I first joined and a ARK popped up (I don't think you met a GM but it's a similar kind of idea). Although after getting into an arguement with a "Leet" (I legitamtely thought it was an a*shole called 'Leet' until the convo looped) I thought it was an NPC and was super imrpessed ^^ Until i found out otherwise later.
I've found a fairly large part of the Game Community in Anarchy to be fairly friendly. 70k is a very small amount to most of us (to me as a L210 player it;s the equivelent of a couple of pieces of junk loot fed to the store), but yes, if you're just starting out 70k is dr00l
I made an adventerer yesterday, and it's incredibly better than my soldier . Great heals and good damage.
But that 70k... I was able to get full implants on my guy, pretty good armor, my nano's, and weapons. (well, found the weapons).
Needless to say, i'm having a blast so far. Level 12 .
Me and my friend did missions most of yesterday, got up to level 15 .
Welcome to Rubi Ka.
Ao has a HUGE learning curve which at first may seem overwhelming. If you can get past that, (which usually only takes the first few levels to grasp the basiscs) you are in for a wonderful game experience. I personally feel the learning curve has contributed to the mature, fun base, and served as a deterent to the l33t d00dz.
The ARK program was a stroke of genius by whomever thought it up. Nothing impressed me or people I have referred to the game more than being greeted very shortly after entering the game by an ARK. It really helps to foster a good community IMO. ARK's and the customer service staff have been extremely helpful to me any time I've ever needed assistance.
Einherjar_LC says: WTB the true successor to UO or Asheron's Call pst!
I just got Guild wars : factions yesterday (finaly decided to get it) so my time will probaly be spent playing it / anarchy online .
(and lineage II [not retail]).
I'll probaly be taking a small break from AO so I can get through the campaign in GW, but once we get up to the PvP aspect i'll have more time, hehe.
