banned from ddo forums

I tried to log into ddo forums and was directed to a screen that said my forum account was temp closed because I no longer pay turbine my hard earned cash for there game .

I did not put any negitive posts ..flamming name calling ect while I was posting on forums

I did not bash the game or its dev team ..there were thousands of others to do this..

I did make suggestions about bugs & things I would like to see fixed & added ..with an explanation as to why I wanted these things..

if i restart my ddo account I will be able to read the ddo forums but not untill then ..

thats it either I pay turbine or no acess to there forums .....now that is just plain childish !!!!! guess they got tired of all those I am leaving because your game sux posts...

You can read the forums without an account. You might have to log out first before it gets rid of the "hey, you don't have an account" browser cookie.

Tons of forums require payment for access. You have to pay to play the game, so it's not a big surprise you have to pay to post on the forums.

well if thats the case then why could we all logg in to the forums befor launch & what about new peeps just checking out the game ..

Its ok to read & post if you havent tryed the game ??????? but those of us who purchased ddo and have left cant read the forums or post .....dosnt that seem a bit on the lame side to you.

the reason is cause they are getting hammered buy those who have spent there cash and got ripped ..they posted there frustrations on the boards ...thus driving away many othere who read said posts ...desperat measures from a desperate dev company ..

when LoTR online comes out al these pizzed ddo peeps wont be buying ..and thats going to hurt ..

Anyone could post on the forums before launch because it was considered the beta forums, which then got wiped at the launch along with changing the posting rules. Since day one of the launch, no one could post on the forums without an active game account.

People on the 7-day trial can post on the 7-day trial, and only the 7-day trial, forums. No one can post on the rest of the forums without an active account. They didn't change the posting rules. That's how it's always been.

Umm, it's that way with every game. Everyone has a voice during the development of a game and then most sane companies limit posting ability after a game is launched to paying subscribers.

You can view the DDO forums but you cannot post without an account; it's a standard practive among MMO forums.

If you cannot view the DDO forums the problem lies on your end because i can view it w/o an account.

I've already given the most probable reason why he can't read the forums.

I hate DDO, but if you have a public posting forum, you will end up with a board full of ads. Go to any public internet site of any size and you'll see what I'm talking about.

That said, you should probably allow previous subscribers to post. Except in DDO's case, they will all be disgruntled and complaining. From a corporate standpoint, that's not really a good idea.
