Character creation and avatar customization

I was wondering, but wouldnt it be nice if we could actually "paint" our character, choosing every color we want to paint that or that other part? like we did with the miniatures? I dont mean they wont have the "easy for lazy" character creation, but just an option for those who like character customization, and painting, was/is a big part of Warhammer!

I love that idea, it would be cool to paint our characters. But you have to take into account the buffoons that would make a pink orc if were given a free paint character customization. Mythic is trying to keep things looking like warhammer, and if they did this, we would see a bunch of people who care shit about the world having oddly tinted avatars.

you prolly can change skin tone of your toon in a limited way, so that you can't have a pink orc, but you can have a dark green orc or a lighter one. also it would be pretty odd to have different colors of skin for different arms and legs... so i don't think that is possible.

What is possible is that armour can be colored with different dyes, i hope without any stupid colors like pink for orc armours or like that.

I actually knew a tabletop gamer who played the Orcs and Goblins in the Fantasty Table Top game painted his troops pink and purple. It was....disturbing to see.

"Painting" your character seems to be an good idea, but it has some rather funny sides too. Just imageine a huge Black Orc which has a lightblue-coloured armour and pink skin. I dont know if i would laugh or cry, seeing that, lol.
As far as Orcs and Goblins do change the colour of their skin as they "grow" or become older, I dont think you could tint their skin when creating them.
Tinting or chaging the Colour of armors and weapons has the same problematic possibilities. Grand Hammer of Doom should not be a huge pink lollipop or something like that. But the Grand Sword of Gore could be red like blood.
I do like the Idea of painting, it just has to be limited in some way, which colours may be used and which would be "forbidden".

Dont be silly, when i said "parts" i meant details, necklaces, armor, tattoos or cloth parts, not skin... Orcs are green, lighter or darker, but green!

Well, Warhammer 40k: Dawn of war has "paintable" armies...

It makes sense that the MMORPG has a even more in depth costumization table that that...

I hope that Mythic follows Relic's example on that...

I guess we'll have to w8 and see...

Hardcore, i see you are a Shinning force fan, lol...

Dark age of Camelot has dyes that you can apply to your characters armor parts and cloak etc..

There are quite alot of different colors.. some guilds use different color-combinations on their armor so they are easier identified.. For example my guild had a rule that your armor had to be fully green, officers had yellow sleeves, tanks red etc..

I think they will enable this feature in WAR to, or atleast i hope so, cause it didnt just add to character customization but it was also very stratigical (or however you spell it :)
