Brief History
LotD
was founded in 1995 and has played multiple MMORPG's over the years.
The guild is a mixture of hardcore and casual gamers who like to have
fun, and due to our rigid recruitment process we only retain quality
players. The guild has a good track record in PVP, and I invite you to
read our guild history. The last game in our guild history is Guild Wars .There we were top 5 through the BWE's, and were top 40 up to six months after retail release.
We
have had success in every game, and we are currently playing WoW and
City of Villains (CoV) while we wait for Warhammer. While waiting for Warhammer to be released, some of us have decided to revisit DAOC (classic servers). Recently LotD was
one of 4 guilds nominated from the entire game (CoV) population for the 2006
PVP guild of the year.
Recruitment Rundown
Lords
of the Dead is a highly competitive guild that focuses on PvP. If you
want to make friends with a bunch of great people, and if you are a
good player that wants to be a part of a guild that uses advanced
tactics and teamwork to excel at PvP, then Lords of the Dead is the
right guild for you.
While Lords of the Dead is highly focused
on PVP, we also accept members don't want to PVP a majority of their
time. These members can contribute to the guild by leading quests,
organizing events, helping out with leveling and character development,
and participating in a host of other non PVP related activities.
We
require that our members be fairly active. You can be away for
vacation, etc. without anyone being upset with you but we are looking
for people who, while not away for vacation or other events, play a
total of 10 or more hours/week so that you can be an active part of our
guild events. Attendance to all events is not required, but we usually
schedule PvP, PVE, or other events every week where having a good
turnout is important.
Voice Chat
Lords
of the Dead uses a program called Ventrillo to talk to one another
while we play. Ventrillo is a free program that allows us to coordinate
attacks and strategy as quickly as speaking. No more trying to type
"STOP!" in half a second to save your group. Instead, you can just say
it with one press of a button.
We are fairly selective as we are
an elite, but not elitist. We give most people a fair chance to prove
that they belong in the guild, and that they can prove that they can
contribute to the guild. Successful applicants will be dedicated,
fun-loving, and willing to apply on our forums and to set up Ventrillo,
etc.
FAQ
1.What is LotD's DAOC goal?
Because
we've lasted 12 years in MMORPG's, spanned several games, and have had
PVP success in each one. Returning to DAOC until Warhammer comes out is something we've been wanting to do because we are simply bored with WoW and CoV's lack of PVP focus. Warhammer isn't likely to hit retail until Q4-2007, and we need a PVP oriented game for the next 16 months.
2. What sort of members are you looking for?
Mature
acting members who are hardcore in their desire to bring pain to the
enemy, who are team focused, who contribute to the guild, and don't get
their panties in a wad too easily.
3. What Faction is LotD going to be?
We will be playing in Hiberia on the Garreth Server.
4. Will LotD ally with other guilds?
If its in our interest to do so, we are willing to listen.
5. Previous DAOC Experience?
We played on the Merlin Server the first 7 months of DAOC's release, and were part of the first alliance (LotD, Conquest, PRX, Combine, Cult) to take and hold all Merlin's relics. Back then people weren't worth a lot of realm points, keeps were worth nothing, etc. DAOC is like a new game now, so we're interested in the classic servers.

-Forgotten-
We're going to be in the 20-24 BG tonight, and once we get everyone guilded we're already up to about 25 members. We are leveling in waves so that our members just starting don't get left behind, and then we plan to PVP at BG's all the way through our leveling process.
We're close to having the dough to start up our guild house, so I'm pretty happy about that. The first year we played on Merlin, guild houses were a pipe dream.
Anyway, we're always on the lookout for dedicated people and we have a sign up thread in the LotD public forum.

Yeah there are quite a few hibs on the gareth side, but it is your choice. Plus hibbies are sexier in general, and as a direct result, we get all the cute redheaded chicks.
