now now, just because the 30 year old persons havent taken their time to read(or learn to read) the pages of Warhammer, or Warhammer 40k, doesnt mean they should be offensivly be smushed on these forums.. or maybe yes.
the first thing a person look for in a game, is actually the screenshots(i am pretty sure about this atleast), so as soon as someone sees a dwarf holding an axe or a hammer, they run out the door going "VROOOM VROOM SOMEONE STOLE WOW FOLDERS FROM THEIR LORE ACHEIVES!!!".
the funny thing is, i have never heard this when i played FPS games, nor RTS(maybe because i didnt use forums "back then"..), that everything had copyright on them.
if it was so, tolkien would be a rich man, suing(spelling?) every game on earth with orcs/dwarfs and elfs on board, from his grave >.>

eople sem to forget WoW was basically a game based on everything from other MMORPG's but simplified to reach a wider audience, and just because WAR looks cartoony like WoW doesnt mean ti will be like it.  This game is going to focus on skill based campain driven PVP whereas WoW isnt focused on PVP, but sort of sits on the fence, therefore WAR should technically have better PVP, as for PVE who knows.

Heheh, when I saw both of these I actually got mad. The first one more than the second. Another WoW type reincarnation? Since the release of WoW there really hasn't been the release of another fantasy mmo yet. So how could this be "another" WoW reincarnation. A fantasy game is a fantasy game, every fantasy game has ORCs,DRAGONS,and GOBLINs. Do not defend these people. They do not take the time to read on the product thier commenting or thier fan boys who are afraid of another game stealing thier spot light. I've been  a warcraft fan for about six years, and I do not get made at this game. The second comment on the list wasn't as bad, but shows how little people know when they comment on the hype. As said in this post tolkien would be rich because of *cough* copyright infringment*cough*. And Warhammer came before warcraft, so they ahd orcs, dwarfs ect. before warcraft. If anyone would get sued it would be everyone who thinks of a fantasy novel and game, the proceedes would go to the family of the person who first created these characters. This is not a flame, it is fact, before you attempt to dismiss a game, understand it. I do not go around the other forums because I have not taken the time to read the official site and understand the products.

Hehe, I'm totally not going to get sued for my writing... (Hopefully) I'm pretty sure my idea hasn't been done before. Thought I have to say that yes my gaming would barrow a few mechanics. Something like skill chains, but not crappy... Were skills actually combine and do some more damage. Personally I loved the idea of skill chains and think it needs/needed to be modified in a game.

Definately.  The information is there for them to read (if they haven't already), they just want to stir the pot a little.

Since it seems to be too hard for you to understand this comment I will elaborate for you, yes, there were many Fantasy style MMOs/offline games before WOW but hardly any that match the cartoon-like styling of WoW hence the reference to this well known, commercially successfull title which is a suitable example for the comment.  I'm not gonna list the history of RPGs for you so any comments made are gonna relate to current events and gaming obviously.

Many of the original products were wrote by people inspired from playing fantasy board games/pen and paper, in their youth including the original WoW (perhaps before your time so you maybe didnt pick up on this reference either?)

Lastly if you think that the developers of this game didnt look at WoWs success or potential and use this as an example for investors or adopt much of the cookie-cutter RPG playstyle (which is all this game is) then your very naive.

If you argue with my point and consider this game to be anything even approaching innovation of RPG MMOs then perhaps I should value your opinion in the same way you do to anyone that doesnt agree with yours.  Its laughable and you certainly do sound like a 12 YO Fanboi FTL

I think its safe to say that we all could go all day wailing on these two.

I'm actually aggravated he referred it to "Warhammer 20k." The
copyright infringement is too classic though. I smiled when he typed

Something that I've always wondered.... What "other Wow-type reincarnations" have there been?  I mean people keep saying not "another" wow-type game.  But I haven't seen a single wow-type game other than wow being made since wow.  Could you please point me to these "other games" that are wow clones?  Where are they?

EDIT: Also, could you enlighten us about this "original WoW" that is before our time.  I'm really curious about it considering blizzard has only been around since 1994.... and the warcraft name was made thereafter.

While I do think ppl who make comments like these need to first read a bit more about the game before posting, and who should stay away from these forums. I do think there is no need to make a whole thread just to take a laugh at them.

Thanks! image I could, but I didn't really see where it was necessary.  At this point it would be boring.  These same viewpoints have been posted time and time agan by people who really know nothing about WAR and are shot down on every thread by those here who actually keep up with the game.  So rather than repeat what's been said over and over, thread after thread...I decided I'd just be childish.  I'm easily amused, what can I say?

Every game rating and hype is filled with rediculous comments, people seem to enjoy bashing games they do not play, know nothing about, or have not even tried.

I'm sorry this thread had came up again >.<, and I  am also suprised I commented, but I say I made a good point there :). Now the reason  I am writing another reply to this horrible topic was because I noticed something I hadn't noticed before. The second paragraph, besides using the word write there is one error in there. I'm sure some developers concieved warcraft through roleplaying, this is of course how dragonlance was created, most notably raistlin. But anyways the part that gets me is when he says, including the original WoW, probally before your time so you didn't pick up on this reference either. How old does he think warcraft is, and its not wow, its warcraft. The first warcraft came out around 91 maybe a few years before or after that. I picked up the warcraft 2 battle chest that included the expansion while I was in about fourth fifth grade, and waited another few years before the last installment came out. Now This guy truly has no idea about the product hes talking about. Most people on this forum were alive around classic warcraft and warcraft 2.

*edit* oh and callmetoby, I'm sorry, hehe didn't see your paragraph remarking on his paragraph two.

WoW invented banks and inventory and having a character that runs around and kills stuff.
WoW invented MMORPGs so every MMORPG out there is just a ripoff of WoW.
WoW invented Elves and Dwarves and magic and stuff, and Blizzard should totally sue that Tolkien guy.
    WoW is Jesus.

Pfft, those two don't make me laugh however, these got a good giggle:

I'm definately getting this game. It looks amazing! I hated WoW and this game will DEFINATELY not be another WoW. In this game there are 24 classes that are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from eachother but in WoW there were what 6(?) different classes that were just pieces of random classes put together. The graphics aren't very cartoony so the community will definately be better. I just hope that the fighting doesn't get boring! Well i'm not sure.. It's between this and AoC.. But i'll probably get this because the classes look so cool (like that troll shaman who summons those giant monsters! that looks sweet!).

IT IS GOGING TO BE AMAZING AND RAPE FACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
