Firstly, Codemasters have not made ANY mmo's at all - they are simply publishing other peoples games, the same as NCSoft publishes City of Heroes - they don't make it, Cryptic do. Codies didn't make Archlord, NHN Games did.
If you're saying that Codemasters are unoriginal and make crappy games, you're overlooking games like Colin McRae Rally, Toca Touring Cars and LMA Manager - all highly successful, highly popular games.
As for that YouTube movie... try uploading your own movie to Youtube. Watch it on your media player prior to uploading, then watch it on Youtube... you'll notice the quality dips immensly, so stop trying to trash the games graphics by showing us a movie on YT.

First off i have every fucking right to judge the game. You know i have the right to a personal opinion right? Have u even tried archlord? Have u noticed that the characters pretty much move in a 45 degree angle? And ive tried really hard to get the graphics they have on the trailers.. I maxed EVERYTHING and it still looked like pristontale. Well then there no healing classes and mostly based on solo play and oh yeah u got automatic pots when u reach low hp! The engine is a fucking joke aswell... Its old and not really state of the art. The L2 engine is way better! Hmm and oh yeah Vanguard is pretty much the only game which is made for the old eq1 players since none of the eq1 players that tried eq2 like it. And wtf is a eq clone? Id like to see a mmorpg with a huge world like eq1 filled with raidbosses and such. And NO WoW isnt even close tinkerbell !

im in beta to and it was a hugh waste. i am not sure why korean games has little to zero creativity. what i mean is this.
you make a toon. you have little to no choices on how it looks. i run around in the game and it looks like we are all cookie cutters. swg, eq 2 did a good job i thought of allowing you to look unique.
my guess korean players dont really care about this but as a us type player i think we do. the interface is very annoying to use. feels like l2 when it first started. i never like l2 interface and it never really improved much over the years.
the fighting has very little excitement and the hits look like a cartoon. i dont want some big hugh effects by just swinging my little sword. makes me feel like im in anime.
and maybe that is the problem with korean games. its feel like an anime. you know when you see a fight in the movie and the guy come sup and attacks, a nice pause and big flashy lights then the guy is dead? for me that wasnt really exciting. i like the more realistic feel for combat then the bright colors that makes no sense.
anyway im sure some people will like the game. but if eq, wow, daoc, were games you like you wont like this. if you came from L2 then you will like this.
one last thing. is it just me or does it seem that anything made my a korean company seem to have to same engine/feel? its like one guy made L2 right then just sold his code to any korean company and they just change the name, monsters, some skills then boxed it up and try to sell it to us?
anyway that is what i think and im glad i didnt pre order it.

Okay, some people love korean made MMO's and other's don't. I do. I'm also waiting for Vanguard, and no it isn't an EQ clone, far from it. Leaked beta information is innacurate to the current state of the game as it is constantly changing and being added to.
There has been nothing but praises in both ArchLord and Vanguard beta's but people will bash them because they both will likely be popular and people seem to like doing that for some reason...
Why in the world can't everyone just wait and see how a game is after it's released for a bit? Why is there always comparisons? ArchLord will be an excellent game I'm sure, and will do well, please don't judge a game by it's developer/publishers, as it may very well surprise you. That's like saying "I dont like this musician because ther distributed by Universal, BMG" or "That movie will suck because it was published by Paramount."
Vanguard on the other hand is a different MMO completely, let's just wait and see how it is before we say it's horrible or not.
If you don't find yourself in interested in a certain title, don't buy it, don't play it, leave those of us who are alone and let us enjoy it and don't bug us with pointless posts trying to sway people away from it, as it isn't fair to do to anyone, in the first place, and not fair to the Developer/Publishers/Sponsers when they haven't even been given the chance to show what they have worked hard on to entertain us, especialy going and trying to bring a game from overseas and attune it closer to our "general" taste in MMO's so we can play it.

Hehe and thanks for one of the first good reply's to this topic. I just dont like it that Archlord used tweaked like hell trailers to make it look interesting when it isnt at all like that ingame. Kinda sad when ppl preorder a game thats not at all what was promised by the company.

The thing is, those ingame trailers are not tweaked in any way. I can get a codemasters employee to confirm that right here and now. I don't know how the heck you get that idea in your head, but the video's are not tweaked in any way.
