Battlefield 2142

IT's just BF2 made abit more sci-fi altho most of the vehicles are esactly the same just changed the look abit lol. I think the classes are much worse than BF2 and the map they put up for beta sucks.

You never see hardly anyone in combat because most people are in vehicles and sniping.

Theres seems to be a bigger loading time than BF2 but a steady FPS at 100 but all the old bugs with the engine remain and the memory leak seems to be even worse!

Overall BF2 is still better, this just reminds me of BFV...

    A friend of mine was invited over to the Stockholm division of DICE where he played a rather extensive beta version.  His impression of the game was nothing but positive (of course, that might have been because they got freshly baked cinnamon buns and almond biskvis).  I don't have a paid subscription to FilePlanet, so I can't judge the version of which you speak.


    Anyhow, I loved Battlefield: Vietnam (much more than I liked Battlefield 2), so the face that it reminds you of BF:V is something which i see as very positive

    If this was a free mod I might be more inclined to give it a go.

    I don't think I'll bother with the demo, let alone the full version. 

    I'll try Quake Wars next year instead.

    Well the Battlefield series have allways been like that Scara. They are all pretty much the same.

    But I do agree its just people in vehicles all the time.

    Personaly I liked BF:Vietnam the best, mainly because it was flat out fun. The music option shows that. And the undergroud tunnels, and not to mention great maps!
    (runs off to reinstall BF:V)

    Would be nice if they could think of something new, and more player focused instead of all the tanks etc. Maybe Battlefield:Gladiators. LOL.

    This one is like BF:V. A cheap upgrade to make more money. It's nothing more than a BF2 mod.

    The only really good games in this series, are the "standalone" games. BF1942 and BF2. But even they had some big problems, wich never get fixed.

    To me this is another one of the games/developers, EA has turned into a money machine. Instead of a few good games you get many avarage/bad games.

    They also announced their new game I think. Something for next gen consoles.

    I just hate how it doesn't feel like your hitting the target unlike CSS which is amazing at this!
    In CSS it feels like your hitting the enemy plus firering the gun, in BF2 it just doesn't feel like u register :P

    In BF2 i like the Golf of omen map and Karkand (w/e its called) but the server browser and the memory leaks + load times and what i said ^ just dont make it fun to play.

    BF 2142 plays the same with a new look.

    I just dont find the game engine fun.

    Have you read the Dev blogs? Apparently the started development on Battlefield2142.. By playing Daqang (however you spell that) Oilfields in BF2 and hacked the stats for the weapons, soldiers, vehicles... So basically just did some changes from the original... And then kept on changing and changing and changing.. and kept on testing... and testing and testing...

    So you guys are probably closer to right then wrong... It sort of is a mod to BF2... but they are using a slightly upgraded engine...

    I dont care I'm still interested... And I'll probably still buy it.

    Upgraded engine? Looks and plays esactly the same to me :P

    The guys who made the engine, sold the company to EA.

    No more engine upgrades for the BF series. 

    Just Mods and console ports to come. A slow and painful franchise death.

    Yes

    Team travel aircraft and some combat thing thats basically a helicopter... There are massive Titans in the sky that you have to destroy.

    Think Planetside/UT04
