Don't really have a good choice to choose from. So playing several hours a day is a hardcore gamer?
Playing 12+ hours a day, 7 days a week is a hardcore gamer. I tend to play a few hours here and there, and a little bit more on my days off and when I get home from work.
I don't watch television because it's crap. So I get my fix with computers.
My curiosity is about the rough amount of time spent and I've got all the options someone visting these forums should need but there is nothing to stop you from describing it

For people that actaully have to work for a living 3 hours a day is hard-core mmorpg gamming.
I voted : "Not a MMORPGer? (I prefer other games but am interested in the future of them or am waiting on a better MMORPG to hit the shelves)"
Thing is I just quit my mmo. And will be waiting for Age of Conan + Star Trek Online. If these 2 dont manage to break past the boring factor all MMOs are suffering with then thats it for me.
In the mean time I am playing single player games, and doing other stuff then computer gaming.

Really? I work 10+ hours most days... I still have time to play with my kids, chase my wife around naked and play 2-3 hours a night on my computer while my wife is at work and the kids are asleep. Usually in an MMO (EVE currently). And hey, I still get 6-8 hours of sleep a night too.
Immagine that.
A "Hard core" gamer is someone who lives-eats-and-breathes video games. Not someone who plays a couple hours a night. I play MMO's 5 nights a week for an average of 2.5 hours. On the weekends I typically am not on much. So I figure I play 15-20hrs a week or so... Probably closer to 18 hours.
Does that make me a hard core gamer?
No... it just makes me someone who only watches TV on the weekends, when I can watch it with my wife. Tivo is soooo awesome that way.

We can try and define it but I think its safe to say if you play several hours or +6 hours a day or 25% of the entire day that you could be called hardcore. Look at the results not that many say they play over several hours a week considering this is a MMORPG forum
i generally play for about 1-2 hours a day. but whenever get a new game i play for 4-6 hours a day, but considering that happens every 6 months, i think im a casual gamer.
"Casual Gamer" that is me. I am lucky if I get to play 5 hours a day on the weekdays, but on the Weekend I play for about 7-8 hours. The rest of the time I am in College or hanging out with friends and family.
this is really surrprising, considering this is an MMO forum most people seem to be casual gamers, i generall play around 2/3 hours a night when i have college, but because im off for a few weeks i guess im playing 6-8 hours so when i have nothing else to do i'm a hardcore gamer.
and if im not hanging with my friends or MMORPGing im on xbox live so i'm constantly gaming

Only play a couple of hours a week, waiting for a good game to come out.
I would say casual is between 1-3 hours a day, normal mmorpger wud be like 3-8, and past that is hardcore, and the final stage is Korean mmorpger.
