RYL, Path of the Emperor is back in beta testing from Monday 21st August so free to play.  Currently planned to be free until the 1980 patch is ready which should be a couple of months or so yet.

    God they are stupid. Somthing tells me they are trying to milk the money out of people. First they unexpectly make it final then they go back to beta on it? How can you do that unless you sucked the beta or trying to get new memebers.

    When this game hit the shelves, there was a competition announced. The 12 top PVP players would be chosen every month for five months to compete in a 30 vs 30 fight. The winning 30 would go to the next E3 to compete against eachother for a million dollars.
    I picked up the game.. I made it into the first months top 12. They called off the tournament the next month because of exploitation.

    It was decently fun for a while.. But I wouldn't pay for it.. So maybe now that it's free, I'll play again. ^_~

    they made it back to beat cuz the game was clearly not ready for live and another thing they made the classes kinda bad then the beta like 3 years ago if the beta 3 years ago became live i wouldve played that day and night

    Is it just me.. Or is this game NOT in beta again?
    Tells me to pay for it when I try and log in.. But then again, I used my CD to install the client and didn't download.. So maybe it's different?

    I dled this game yesterday, just looking for a decent free game to play on my laptop and between beta testing. So i install it, create a toon and start the game. I enter the world, take 3 steps and i get an error and the game closes. Tried it a half dozen times with the same result before i quit and check there bug forums. Found the error stickied on the top of the tech forums. First post almost 6 months ago. This same error happens to half the people that play the game, all at dfferent times. Basically they have no idea how to fix this problem. They give standard textbook fixes(changing or lessening settings basically.)  So to me it's really no big suprise that its free again, couldnt imagine paying for something that the developers cant even fix.

    RYL one really was a "fun" game.

    as i've said before, "RYL is -fun-, not good."

    but i dident really like POTE. Maybe ill try it.

    This is the game that offered a million dollar prize then changed their minds and cancelled the contest? I played it for a week or two...lots better out there.
