Personally, I'll consider playing any game provided the gameplay is very good. Sometimes I'll take a stand on pricinple, but if the gameplay is exceptionally compelling then I might compromise a little.
All that being said, I can't see myself being interested in this kind of game.
I'm sorry, but this is disgusting. It's like a game of chess where one player gets two queens because he paid extra for the set. Fortunately for us gamers, Archlord is destined for the discount rack (that is, if it's not Vaporware). I honestly can't believe they think someone is going to pay $40/month for this crap.
My god, I was against the payplus system idea from the start, but this is just horrendous. Especcially if enough kids with parent credit cards whine their way into making it work

imagine the poor saps paying the $9.99... they will be so gimped it isnt even funny. Which makes the compromise package the $19.99 package. Im sorry but no MMO is worth $20 a month least of all this one.
I know what you mean, this thing need to be removed AT ALL COST! paying 40 bucks per month is a sign of GREEDY ASS BASTERDS! it's totally unbalanced and they are trying to screw us.
well i am out for sure .First $40 a month? No ty.Gets worse since they expect us in UK to pay £27.49 and with vat that will be over £30.And since the £ is almost $2 i be actually paying like $60 a month!
Originally posted by Randd I cant say any more right now, but i think most people will be happy with playing the game at the lowest price level.
It won't work out that way, you see, those that are willing to pay for the "Lord" packs will have a significant advantage over others, in terms of items and skills, in other words, if one wishes to be remotely competitive, you MUST buy the most expensive package. It may be possible to compete without the boost the Lord pack gives, but it will take serious amount of hard work that others avoided by simply handing over the dough.

Horrible idea, just another example of selling in-game advantages.
Stay away, far away from this game.

That is just.......horrible. They're a company that likes money over quality of their games. Of course you need money, I understand that... But DO NOT become a sell out because you need money.
I was never planning on playing this game in the first place, and now I definately will not.
This is like playing Albatross18 against those bastards who buy cookies.
any game with item malls or this crap is really just a contest over the size of players wallets. if you have enough money and are willing to dish it out then you are almost instantly better than the average/casual gamer who wants to actually have fun
Its going to be interesting to see how it works out. (Hopefully it doesn't)
Its codemasters, the same people who brought us RFO, is anyone expecting this game to actually be good? If I was stupid enough to pay 39.99 a month to play a video game, I BETTER be ruler of the gameworld!

Archlord plans on a tier payment system
9.99 a month
19.99
39.99
With each higher tier you get more perks. You can guess which payment tier the archlord will be coming from lol
Quote from payment page---
All packages give you the player a number of additional bonus credits each month that are all redeemable against a range of additional in-game enhancements seperate from the traditional in-game item and currency system within ArchLord.
Typical items include:
Talisman of Awakening – Increased Rate of XP
Orb of summoning – Summon Party Members to Location
Lens Stone – Increased Attack / Skill Ability
Plus an assortment of "credits" to buy ingame items based on the amount YOU PAY a month and sub length, you can guess who gets the most.
So the more you pay the more perks you get. If I pay more then you for example, I get the Lens Stone and kick your arse because I attack faster and better. Weee..........sounds like fun.

People think they already should have an opinion for a system they know close to nothing about. people confuse playplus with an itemshop, and thats really what people are upset about. only very little realize you can buy enhancements with the credits you receive, not anything "Special"you won't even be able to buy equipment.
even less people realise that similar items can be found in the game. but those are the standards of this forum, bash something first, and then do research after.
comments like "you MUST buy the 40$ to stay competive" just proves the lack of research that is done on this forum.

The Lord package is like buying a new game monthly .
Like I said before, this will ruin PvP. Considering with those credits, you can buy variety of items just like in free MMOs with item malls.

I predict this one will fall totally flat.
95% of the pre-release fanbase for Archlord is shouting for the 15$ a month method. But CM refuses to listing.
I'm sorry but Nazi Soft (aka NCSoft) can do better then this.
