"D Tanix:
Pronounced "Deh Tannis", D Tanix are a purely energy-based entity. Their species evolved beyond the need for a physical form eons ago to the lonely realization that they were alone in their advancement. Now they find themselves essentially traversing the stars in large ghostly masses seeking for new and unseen races. The D Tanix goal is to find another energy-based organism for their species to merge with, releasing their individual consciousness into a hive mind and achieving what they believe is the final step towards immortality for their kind. The DT interpreted the energies emanating from rook as one large psychic entity, and thus quickly set out to discover the nature of the "soul planet", being their name for it.
D Tanix characters have no physical form, other than an incorporeal and spectral manifestation of their consciousness which esists usually in the form of a disembodied torso. D Tanix characters only means of interaction with those around them of "lesser" evolutionary state is to psychically dominate and inhabit the minds of lesser species. They are essentially a pet-class minus any master playable character of their own.
DT players find themselves breaking free of the ambiance and regaining control of themselves with no means of escape. DT Players must in turn start out by possessing the most easily dominated creatures around them, such as the surrounding fauna. Once they have regained more of their power, they may move on to dominating humanoid creatures. For the duration of their existence on Rook, this is how DT must live, in constantly possessing other creatures and assuming their abilities and faults.
When DT players attempt a mental invasion, they roll mental power versus mental power, therefore in their weakened state [ergo their state right after character creation] they can immediately posses surrounding creatures. When possessed, the characters skill in various abilities such as melle combat, raise as their creature performs the task.
This is another idea that we believe sets out game apart from the rest.
DT players acquire the abilities of their host. When a possessed wolf strikes with a claw, the DT gains the experience of hand-to-hand based combat. If that character continually chooses to posses beasts, instead of humanoids, they will subsequently continue to unlock beast-specific abilities such as enrage and increased agility. If this same DT player elects to dominate a human npc, he will inherit all previous abilities unlocked via the previous host [barring abilities not possible due to physical restrictions such as tail swipe, etc] and begin working on his melle weapons skills. Using a humanoid host will also grant the ability to craft and perform many more abilities based on manual dexterity.
And now to push the envelope.
DT Players, at higher levels, also gain the abilities to focus their mental energies to the affect of manipulating precision technology. What this allows DT players to do, is essentially become "the ghost in the machine". Many high-level missions involving machinery require the use of complex AI, which can be supplemented by the inhabitance of a DT mind in an electronic host, such as that of a capitol ships AI. This allows a DT player to accomplish group-friendly feats such as simultaneously controlling healer bots, nanomachines, equipment, pretty much anything with a susceptible AI in it.
The DT race gives the player a level of freedom and flexibility we don't believe has yet been explored in an mmorpg. It allows a player to at-will change their role in society, and in groups by simply choosing to "posses" one thing or another. A DT player might posses another npc and force it to fight for their team or take control of a land-based vehicle, piloting a vehicle with skill near-impossible to a humanoid. DT players can also use their abilities to influence and manipulate other circuitry for their own benefit, such as in the use of disabling and unlocking complex locks, using electrical conduits and circuitry as a means of transportation and the like."

This game looks absolutly stunning and original. With these unique races, each character will play much more differently than in most MMORPGS.
Black Holes Suck.
