Oh well if that's the case. You have hundreds of Asian MMOs to chose from.
Lmao, i have tried Silkroad and Hero Online but theres no way i get a D2 feeling from an asian style game Plus the grinding makes me want to burn in flames. lol
Titan Quest has diablo written all over it, its not a MMO however. Even the developers said they copied alot of stuff from diablo, but with this game, thats not a bad thing.

No it doesn't. It has the gameplay down, to be sure, but Diablo was about so much more than this. Diablo was about killing demons, and the story was based on Dante's inferno. As someone who has played Diablo for more time than most 60s have played WOW, I protest the notion that TQ is thematically anything like it.
Blood, guts, demon worship, and a demented story are what makes Diablo great. TQ doesn't have any of this stuff because their developers themselves can't handle it. If the average Diablo 2 player was 17 in 1999 (minimum age to buy), he/she is now 24, and can surely handle a little bit of blood and demonology. Moreover, the average gamer is not 24, but 30. These devs need to #1 grow up and #2 discover wikipedia.
All of that said, if you are looking for a gameplay successor to Diablo2, they are everywhere. If you want a spiritual successor, none exist right now, but one is coming...
Wait for hellgate london yes, this is the best way to go. Created by the founder of Blizzard and the creator of the diablo series... its gonna be the closest thing you can get to diablo.

Also older but similar is Sacred.
Also much earlier but truely enjoyable is Darkstone.

I have played Darkstone I had Gametap for a little while and Darkstone was on the list. But still looking for more or an online D2 type game. I dont even think there is one besides anime of asian MMOs. Im thinking about trying Darkeden but theres alot of people who say theres plenty of hackors. I dont want to get into the game, get a decent char, then get it hacked. Not my cup of tea
Titan Quest is the closest to Diablo 2... and whoever said Titan Quest doesnt have demons... hasnt played the game...
Guild Wars was made by ex Diablo developers so you may want to look into that, and other ex Blizzard devs are currently making a new type of Diablo-style game called Hellgate London which is going to have a MMO componant.
Originally posted by baff Yup it's Diablo does ancient mythology. Pixel shader 3 so you need a recent GFX card. Diablo is better, but it's a very good clone.
In TQ, can u find armor and weapons like u can in D2?
I've had it running on my LAN, but before the first patch multiplayer wasn't stable. I haven't tried the online play, but it is an option. Like Darkstone and Sacred, it's online success or failure will revolve around the server browser or lack of it.
Battlenet was excellent.
You can pick up armour and weapons and the system is similar to diablo, socketing, sets, colour coded magic items by power level. Items do not have durations however. They do not degrade with use.
The main differences are your inventory gets expanded as you rise in level, and you may multiclass you character, fighter/thief. Paladin/Mage or whatever you like as you get high enough level. The abilites and skills are comparable, it's a potion munching game.

Well considering that D2 isn't an MMO, I'm gonna have to say no.
A Work in Progress.

It's not the really good place for this discussions, but .. here my answer :
D2 game :
Dungeon siege II is really like D2 ...
Otherwise, Sacred is kind like Diablo2 .. but both these game are not diablo 2 but have some similar stuff.
I've got a lot of fun playing them. (less sacred then Dungeon siege II)
I recommend dungeon siege II ... Had a lot of fun,
(And ... before I close ... Diablo 2 is not a mmorpg
he wants an mmo like diablo 2
I suggest DarkEden
its a vamp vs slayer game
but its top down and plays like diablo 2 (without quests yet)

but there are no NO HACKERS
ive heard of like 3 and they got kicked
but if you play DARKEDEN INTERNATIONAL
which is still around
its huge and 100% english and everything is fine
but its riddled with hackers

EDIT: I almost forgot! Can u play online?
Actually, if you poke around the net a little bit, there are quite a few Mods for D2 that'll keep you busy for quite a while.
Yes. It is identical to Diablo in gameplay terms.
