It would be a waste to get flight and speed anyway, i dont think there is a limit but why would you get flight and speed thats just stupid..i can see speed and jump but not flight.

A quote I really like would apply here. "A jack of all trades is a master of none"

Sure you could go for them all, but you won't have any major offense or defense to choose from. A rez from a defender is better then a rez from the medicine pool. The defender heals are more powerful then a blaster with medicine pool.

your arguement is so persuasive, so filled with knowledge and insight. You back up your argument very articulately, with suggestions of improvements and raising examples to glorify your position....oh wait, you didn't

I haven't kept up to date on the numerous and frequent patches, but I believe the answer is 4 - players can select a maximum of 4 power pools.

At least pre-ED, everyone took the speed and fitness pools (for hasten and stamina) and many probably still do. Add one more for a travel power (if you don't like superspeed) and you've only got one choice left.

The question of what's wise will depend on your toon. What are you planning to play? Eg. many tanks and scrappers would argue that fighting and leaping are essential.

The medicine pool is fairly useless. The only toon I ever found it good for was a forcefield defender or controller - to add some form of healing to the build. Certainly don't take it for rez - carry a few awakens. By the time you get to your 30s and 40s you'll be able to carry so many inspirations that carrying around half a dozen (or more) awakens is no drama and in many respects far superior to the medicine pool rez power.

While I occasionally picked up travel powers from more than pool, if my build had room for it, I don't think super speed and flight are a good combo. At higher levels flight gets reasonably fast so you'd find super speed superfluous. I think super speed and teleport (recall friend is always a popular power in groups), or super jump is the more common combination.

Well we've all been noobs at some point :)

I've posted this advice in other threads, but download the hero planner (http://sherksilver.coldfront.net/) and start looking at player guides. There are lots of good guides out there both just on the usefulness of individual powers and on complete player builds. Just be sure to check which version of CoH the guide is written for. Some powers have changed drastically since launch.

Super Jump is a very cool power.

And always remember, flight is the slowest travel power in the game.   I'll take flight if it really builds into my toons concept, but I'll usually get bored of it and respec into Super Speed or Super Jump.

First, your primary is the MAIN power list your character picks...for example, Invul is a primary for tanker.

Secondary is the SECOND power list your character pick, at character creation, Invul would be a secondary for Scrappers and brutes, a secondary is about 15% less effificient than a primary on most aspects.  Secondary powers are a LOT stronger than the pools below.

Up to 4 pool set after reaching level 6+

To get fly, after level 6 you can take Hover OR the other, then at level 14+ you can take Fly.  (2 powers)

To get super speed, you need Hasten OR the other power, then at level 14+ (so 16+ if you take fly at 14) you can take it (2 powers).

Rez, at level 6+ you take aid other or stimulant, at level 14+ (18+ if you take fly and super speed) you take aid self, at level 20+ you take rez.  (3 powers)

Stamina, at level 6+  you take hurdle or swift, at level 14+ (22+ if you take fly, super speed, aid self and rez) you take health and at level 20+ (24+ if you take all the above) you take stamina.  (3 powers)

By level 24 you COULD have the 10 powers listed, but it means that since level 4, you didn't pick any power in your primary and secondary pool, which would be bad IMO...so you will likely be MUCH higher level when you have all the power you list.  A MAXIMUM of 4 additional such set can be added, so you can't take fighting or concealment on top of these 4.

At level 41+ you also have the choice from 1 EPIC pool.  Epic are usually better powers than the complementary pool, yet not even close to secondary.  Usually, because for example, peoples get a PET in CoV and this pet is better than ANY primary pet a MM ever get, which is quite unfair, but what can I do, beside saying it is unfair?  Epic is usually strong in the sense that it is VERSATILE, it give stuff you usually don't have, yet again in the PET EXAMPLE, it grant a pet better than any pet given in a PRIMARY, which is silly.

If you play in Firebase Zulu, you will curse both SS and SJ, you will want fly or teleport or...most likely wait to be TPed to group.

Personnaly I love SJ!  But fly even if slower allow more control and ease of movement that neither SS nor SJ offer, fly is also pretty good in PvP.

SS has a hide component, which is really good to complete missions fast and just go to the boss and kill it, it is not a perfect hiding, but combined with the speed, it is the way to finish missions fast...I usually just do it with SJ, but I suffer attacks and must stop at a few place with SJ.

The speed of these powers increase with your level, automatically.

Sprint and Hurdle stack with SJ, I don't know any power that stack with Fly speed-wise.

Someone could, in theory, slot hurdle, sprint and SJ 3 times each and it would prolly be amazingly efficient and fast...or just slot SJ.
