It would make another title added to a list of mediocre games they offer. And Turbine has NOTHING to lose at this point with it.

The state of DDO in terms of no solo content ( they're working on it for the next patch, but too late) and no PvP means that SOE can probably purchase it for very little cash.

Don't bet on it. Turbine can't just sell it. Atari and WOTC own the game. Turbine is just the team they hired to develop it.
That said... SOE could have done a better job (as much as it pains me to say that, it's true).

SOE can put together some very impressive design teams. It's just afte they cut most those people lose and bring in the cheaper and less experienced maintenance team post release that things seriously go down hill.

SOE makes good games. The only problem is that they trasform the games in something completely different in a matter of few months. So if u had oranges at the beginning, you will end up with apples.
I don't think SOE can do a worse job than Turbine, actually if SOE can make a "SWG" in reverse, this game will still have some chances.

All right, I stand corrected. SOE can buy it for very little cash from Atari and WOTC then instead of Turbine

I don't see them giving that to SOE, no matter how much SOE pays But yeah I could see them handing development over to SOE if SOE pushed hard enough. Frankly I'd rather see Mythic do it... then again Mythic is now owned by EA and I trust them even less than I trust Turbine when it comes to gaming

Actually I had a love/hate relationship with the voice chat in DDO... While it made it super easy to talk in groups it REALLY killed the immersion.
I won't even get into the *numerous* annoying kiddies who'd sit on the comm and talk non-stop till your ears started bleeding.

This is acually a good idea and was mentioned in a round-about way in another post- If sony picked it up then added it to the station access pass- I would play for sure- esspecially with gods and heros and vanguard going to be on the station pass.
I am planning on re-upping my station pass's soon- for vanguard and gods n heros- might as well throw in DDO hehe
I already have a station pass and the more games that soe brings to it the better ..the 1 thing lacking in ddo is content ...well at the rate that soe churns out exp packs for the everquest games mabey it wouldent be all bad .

Turbine owns the game. They leased the name from Wizards of the Coast. Atari was the publisher.

How goes PotBS? Are they in beta yet? Been moving, and haven't been keeping up.

PotBS is still in closed beta, they gave a release date of June 07, and say they will start an open beta a couple months before that. I have begun a guild for it at www.blackhorsefaction.org
DDO was a major let down for me at the higher levels. If you weren't a cleric, fighter or wizard you couldn't get a group. Which with the lack of crafting or solo content left you with nothing to do, so my time spent there grew less and less. You were also forced to complete the same quests over and over again which is something they promised wouldn't happen. It's a shame, it had a great combat system and good possibilities.

The better question is: would it make a difference?
I think not!
The game is already ruined as is- If $OE got it, I guess they couldn't ruin it anymore than it is. That's got to be a positive...

I'll start my own SWG... with Black Jack... and Hookers!!!
In fact, forget the SWG!!!!

Don't think SOE is interested in another money sink.
They already got SWG for a money pit dogfood game.
I honestly don't see SoE buying DDO..
I mean, would you?

I'm not going to say I was 100% accurate, but I thought that's what I recalled from their posting on their boards before release.
