There was a father in Texas (I think) who found out a guy had molested his son. The police were in the process of extraditing the accused when the father shot the guy in the airport. The accused was in handcuffs and being escorted by police when the father came out of the crowd and popped him in the back of the head. The whole thing was caught on tape by a local news channel.

Got to agree here. The guy SOUNDS suspicious, but nothing had been reported or proved. What happens if he was innocent? How do you explain to your kid that your in jail because you took the law into your own hands and killed an innocent?

Due to the fact we dont have any real basis for the actions of the lawyer I cant judge if its right or wrong. If the man did molest his 2 year old then he deserved to die. You have to ask yourself why earlier civilizations prefered a justice system over blind justice though. The answers are in your past. To play devils advocate to your question here, how could you explain to your kid that you knowingly did nothing to the person that violated them if it turns out that the person was guilty? Again, I understand all these arguement are based off hearsay without all the facts being present.
As bad as I feel that someone was killed, if it ends up being true that the daughter was raped, then I do not feel bad for the type of person that was killed. Child molesters don't usually have too easy of a time in prison and have been known to be taken out quite painfully. Maybe this can be seen as a mercy killing.

To be honest with you, the justice system is lacking. Hardcore criminals are known to get off because of lack of evidence and good, expensive lawyers. I can tell you from personal experience that in a lot of cases, if a prosecutor sees a good lawyer defeding the criminal, he/she will lower the sentence because if the case goes to trial, there is a good chance the "the people" will lose.
Our justice system is crap. Anyone who has money can pretty much get away with murder, while the rest of us will wind up in jail with a self defense charge. That's why sometimes it is nessessary to take matters into your own hands rather than face the possibility that your child's molestor will get off on a technicality.
