Up To Scratch?

Hi, I'm new to the site and have a question, sorry of this is slightly off-topic but please bear with me.

right now the only PC in our house is the family PC and is pushing on to be four years old by now so naturally it doesn't have what it takes to play many of todays on-line games. I am however planning to get my own Pc and have made a good graphics car a priority. Could someone please tell me wether this is up to scratch with the on-line games of today? this is the PC I have my eye on right now.

Any help appreciated.

Here are the details of the PC-

AMD Sempron 3000+ Processor Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition 512MB DDR RAM 80GB Hard Disk Drive Dual Layer DVD ReWriter Drive 256MB ATI Radeon X200 Express Graphics 9-In-1 Media Card Reader 7 USB Connections 4 PCI Slots 17" TFT Flat Panel

total waste of money..the *New* computer you just linked is already way behind current technology.

whats 400euros = to in american money?

Check out http://www.newegg.com/ & http://www.tigerdirect.com/ buy pieces that are compatable and slowly build a nice system. You can build your own much cheaper then buying one premade usually with more upgradablilty also.

personally I'm waiting for DX10 and all the DX10 cards to come out before I upgrade new generations of processors coming out recently are top notch and Windows Vista is just around the corner.

I urgently suggest you dont buy anything with the Compaq label on it. Its cheaper, for a very good reason.

Dell or HP would be a better option, or Alienware if money isnt an issue.

k well thanks for answering, in which case can anyone recommend anywhere in the UK where I could get a good custom-built PC? Also what are some of the more preferrable parts right now? Simply put, I'm not the best on keeping updated on the latest PC parts as they come out.
