Is anyone else having serious Internet issues?

90% of the sites I go to don't respond.  I get no DNS, nor ping.  This has been happening for the past 15-25 minutes.

Currently on the Insight trunk of the Road Runner Cable network.

Edit: this is not just me.  I'm talking to my friend in a city about 2 hours away on Time Warner who is having the same issues.

    Was able to browse all my bookmarks and I'm currently running just fine using Road Runner.

    I've had some funky problems with it in the past but I'm in Nebraska if that helps you determine anything.  Unfortunately Time Warner is the only cable provider in our city for better or worse but I'm usually for healthy competition.  Striving to better yourself over your competition and all that...

    i was having the same problem with slow ping times.  but i had a tech out to fix an return path problem and i think it cleared it up.  i'll test it tonight and see if i'm still hving problems

        The strange part about it is that I asked my friend to download Minions of Mirth to try it out with me.  After he got it downloaded and installed, we started having problems.  I had installed it last night and was on the net just fine about an hour ago when it all started happening.  Being the type of person he is, started blaming the game right away.  I asked him to check the other PC in his house and it was doing the same thing.  Right away he says it must have done something to his router.  

        Now, I'm trying to find some news that it's more than just us to prove to him that it's not the game that did it.  I can't get to most of the news sites, the road runner site says the network is fine and this is one of the few forums I registered on that I can actually read and post.

    Roadrunner is working fine for me, and I live in LA, if it helps.

    LOL, yeah.  I just called another friend in the same City (Columbus, OH) and he's having trouble getting certain sites too.  Must be something with the local network.  Sucks when you have no control over it.  That and I can't call them because all I have is my cell number from Chicago and the number they gave me to call blocks anything but local calls...lame.

    Yes, I'm having an issue with my internet.

    The problem with my internet is that there's all these people all over it all the time.

    Do I need like an anti-virus thingy to get them off the internet?

    Yes! Same exact problem and I'm also in Columbus, OH.

    Some sites work fine, others not at all - currently on hold with tech rep right now.

    my sister lives in Fort Hood Texas, it's near Austin.
    She uses Road Runner and she's having the same issues...

    Might want to call and find out what is going on.

    maybe the internet is becoming more like a dumptruck and less like a series of tubes.

    Tech guy (after 40 min of troubleshooting): "Bad news is, you're part of an area that is currently having problems. Good news is we know about it and are working on fixing it."

    With a broken internet, I'll get to go outside.  Maybe grab a bite to eat.  That is if the Sun doesn't kill me first.
