The new xpansion only provides one new race.....and all realms get it.....the new skill classes are the same in all realms. The setup is sorta like Everquest. Unlocking the mauler class like you had unlock the frog race in EQ through quest. Clockworks.....do we really need robots.....Everquest has clockworks.....they have no buisness being in camelot. Whats the reward for preordering the xpansion....a robot (clockwork) kitten. What has happened to Mythic?

What's wrong with DAOC's current community? They are starting to act like other immature communities where they feel they need a reward for preordering. Either you want the expansion as soon as it comes out or you don't. Also, you don't have to buy the expansion if you feel it isn't worth the money. There is plenty of other content in the game already.
Welcome to this week's episode of "Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom"...
Today we have stumbled upon the Forum Troll in its natural habitat... Crikey! Notice how fast it strikes, coming out of NOWHERE to deliver a one line attack post in the forums for a game it apparently has no interest in! And look how it riles up the natives so! This one is clearly an aged and experienced Forum Troll! We should all consider ourselves lucky to have gotten to experience such a sight first hand!
That's all for the show this week, please join us again on "Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom!"

And with that little imagination yes they have gotten lazy, only one new dungeon, ok maybe it will be huge but still only one territory that is the same for all realms. Yes lazy! Look at SI, all the new content , different for each realm and still maintaning the core game play differences. I still love the game , ive been playing it since it came out, and im still going to play it, (so you still get my cash, jokes on me right?) but you have to understand that all the new content has been getting lamer with making everything the same for each realm.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I smell EA behind this...
Even free expansions seemed to have more work in them than the new one
I still love the game, I still play it (and been payinbg for it) but now it's only for a couple of hours every 2-3 days...
Somehow lost interest in it and seems that the EA agreement is gonna even hurt Warhammer too...
I want good old MYthic back!!!!
Get me that ALE!!!!
LoTM was in design for months prior to the EA deal. Only Mark and a couple other people knew about the deal, so those designing the expansion had no idea and so I do not see how EA could have been calling the shots.
Mythic has already announced new hires and job postings for both DAOC and WAR thanks to EA's money. They have also decided to add more content the expansion because of the help. If EA is going to be bad for Mythic, it isn't happening currently.
As for the expansion, well I would say Mythic is in a hard position. SI was not used very much. Cats was used even less. Most people level in original zones, or TD. If they add more PvE zones that are not going to be used, then isn't it a waste of resorces? If they give 3 unique classes you will have balance issues brought up legitimate or not.
There is going to be this huge dungeon - my assumption is that it will be the equivelant to a few zones since it is supposed to be the largest in any mmorpg to date. People wanted changes to RvR, so that is going to happen in this expansion. I am not saying this expansion is going to be great, or that there appeared to be more content in the first 2 expansions, but what I am saying is that with the huge amount of content in the game, and the process of updating all of those areas, making changes to the current game, the lack of people playing new PvE content, then this expansion seems to be what people will use as well as taking into account things people want.
I played a couple of characters to max , I leveled in SI with my Nerco and later in Cats .. the bosses were amazing fun in CATs... The horse update ... hmmm well it was ok , but didnt appeal to me , didnt seem very fun... Most fun I had was rerolling various lvl 20 guys to fight in the pvp deal and then one night I stopped logining in, the next thing I knew , it wasnt as fun as before. So I cancelled.
Now this new update ... I dont know about... Doesnt seem like very Mythic like , its a new way of thinking .. yes that is good... but doesnt make me want to come rerunning back... Maybe I dont want to play a hamburger...
I totally agree with JulianDracos. EA has nothing to do with this new expansion. In the only thing they have to do is that they infused money so now Mythic has more staff.
This expansion is not just a new class and race. It has more subclassing and the personal relics. Imho, the personal relics is the most important.
Besides all that, if the larbyrinth ends up been the biggest dungeon in the today's mmorpgs, then Mythic (again) made something first. Their PvP concenp, the RvR, is by far the best PvP implementation I had seen.
I still think DAoC is on of the best, if not the best, MMORPG out there. And this expansion won't hurt it but will help it.
No, the true purpose is to add the personal relics to shake up RVR and to add one big freaken huge dungeon to get lost in.
They're not being lazy, they're being different.
