Confirmed winning ticket, and now what?

in Lord of the Rings Online

I won one Fre Beta account, which is wonderful. My ticket was also accepted right away, not anything about 10 people have already bla bla.. it went right through.. but now what?

I havent got any instructions on how to download the client or whatever, or am I just being ignorant that the beta hasnt even started and that I will get info once it does?

    I would also like to get this confirmed, but i think we just have to wait for an email with instructions, i just hope we get into beta/alpha now(real soon) and not way late before release or something.

    I dont think they are releasing until Nov-Dec so you should have plenty of time to check it out....

    Remember its Beta, not free retail sample, so theres nothing to be "late" about. Expect some problems and give constructive feedback.

    It says Spring 2007 on their FAQ for release date, and the reason i am hoping it's soon, is becasue it's much more fun to be there to help test the game from early on, when it is in late beta the games tend to have been polished enough for open beta, etc etc ...

    Can you believe I did the pre-order for this game when it was originally scheduled for release on Feb 2004? After all of this, I hope Turbine doesn't screw it up like the past 3 games it released.

    you will geta key that you enter into your beta app on the turbine lotro site, then when it gets to the phase where contest wionners get in, youwill automatically be sent an invite, we havnt been told when that is, jsut soem time soon after beta begins, beta is currently scheduled to begin, late september/october, and yes release is sheduled for Spring 2007.

    Most likely, once all the prizes are claimed and submitted to Turbine, we'll get a 'congrats' email, possibly containing more instructions or a 'as soon as there is more info you'll get another email'.  Basically like the previous poster stated.

    You will receive a mail later on where you can download the beta client, I think beta gonna start soon.

    What do you enter into your account to let turbine know you've won a beta? I can't find the place on their site to enter anything for beta other than the regular beta app and the beta app doesn't have a place for a key. The number that we got when we claimed the winning ticket from MMORPG, is that the number we have to enter into Turbines site to claim it?

    Seriously, NOTHING has been sent out by MMORPG and I've been scouring the LOTRO site for information but found nothing.

    From everything i've read on these and the LotR forums Beta has not started.  It should be- soon- I've heard everything from september 9th to late october. 

    Im excited, just as you are, to check it out.  Hopefully it wont be to long- but were in whenever it begins =)

    They won't send out an email with more info until ALL contestants are confirmed.  Once that is done, we'll most likely get a generic "Turbine will contact you soon" email.  Or there might be instructions to log onto a particular link and enter a code.  Basically, we just need to sit tight and wait.  It's still the weekend for most places because today is a holiday.  I wouldn't expect anything today, maybe tomorrow if everyone has confirmed.  Until all the winners are confirmed, expect nothing. :P

    Thanks nic. Just made me confused since I haven't heard anything else about it. Would have been nice to have something attached to the winner's confirmation that said "Further information will be sent to your account when all winners have been confirmed." It's just one line and kind of seems helpful.

    Like others have said, beta hasn't started. If you don't have a forum account, you should register and
    start reading the posts. They will annouce when beta will start on the website.

    Send that suggestion in to MMORPG.  Perhaps they can change the way it sends out the initial winner emails.  Or perhaps the 'winning confirmation' page has more info.  I don't think I really read it. ;)

    EDIT: Just pulled it up again, there wasn't much to read.  After you confirm, perhaps then it had some info, but it seems like it was more of just a 'you are confirmed' response.
