Genpets? Mass produced, Genetically engineered pets?

I don't know if this has been posted before but...

While I was just looking through some information on genetically modified foods, I stumbled upon "Genpets" - Genetically modified pets.

Genpets are actual Genetically modified Living (alive) Pets. I have no idea what their DNA are consist of. By their appearance, they seem to be some cross between Lemur, Chimp and maybe some sort of Shrew. As I read on in their catalogs and feature lists, I found these things are grown, packed, shipped and packaged into containers much like ones that comes with our new toy.

And I thought. This is the most disturbing thing I've ever seen.

I think this is one of the most disgusting human development I've ever seen. I also think the people who are developing these things are much of sick and greedy bastards. I hope all of them would go to hell.

Their website is  here. And please post your view on this.

One in a package.

Well since everyone but darknddealer knows that's a joke I'll change the subject. Who here would want a specially bred/genetically engineered pygmy bear that's like 1' - 2' tall? I want that as a pet! All the fun of having a pet bear without the face removing claw swipes.

They look like they would taste good.  I could imagine that on a plate next to peas, potatos, cranberry sauce, and stuffing. Mmmm Mmmm good.

wow, they worked really hard on this, they even have a pdf sellers manual about 20 pages long, a little long winded for it to be a good prank, but hey, at least they put some detail into it.

Though I can't help but applaud the amount of effort that was put into making this seem legit (though the fact that they had no pictures of these things live was pretty much a dead give away), I must say that I find the whole thing rather.....offensive, for lack of a better word. They even went so far as to make screenshots of samples which were nearing their expiry date, and were slowly rotting away. Sick shit man, I'm a hard person to offend, but this is just bad.

Aw man these would be soo cool if they were real. Even if this happens in real life and its as horrible as this is presented i would still get one. I mean come on id celebrate the downfall of human character when it would happen. Just a step closer to becoming cyborgs...

genetically engineered pets? sure  I have no qualms about changing DNA to achieve a desired effect, we could for example easily solve a lot of the world's food problems if people would just stop being scared of the idea.

However, a joke like that is just sick.
