besides the bad humor (jawa porn? ugh) at least they come to the conclusion that the game still sucks. Although here and there they say things are better. Which is it?
I've found the X-Play reviewers to be really nothing more than FPS junkies. They claim to enjoy all types of games, but really, if it's not Final Fantasy, it sucks as an RPG to them. They obviously know nothing about the game... comments like "you can now live out your every Star Wars fantasy" just prove that point. You could do that pre-CU, or even CU. But SOE and LA removed those things with the NGE. You are now limited to what SOE allows you to have.
The fact that it's combat-centric doesn't make it a better game, no matter what X-Play says. The fact that you no longer "have" to dance doesn't make it a better game. Unlike the narrow-minded reviewers, pre-CU fans LIKED those choices, and we engaged in them. I had a musician for a while. He was also an architect, an armorsmith, an image designer, and a scout. And no, not all at the same time... but that's just one of the many things we miss about the game.

Yes. Because NGE simply put, sucks. It's not a FPS, it's not a MMORPG, it's a mash-up of 3 or even more different systems, and its bugged to hell. Not to mention, over half of it isn't even remotely finished.
Fanboism or hatred, it sucks. Quality-wise its a little above DnL, just because it has working quests and better graphics. But if you take those away you realize that its indeed broken game. Not, "has some issues", "some quests are bugged", "various glitches in the interface", broken. Most online games have those from time to time, but generally they tend to get fixed.
But at this point, Anarchy Online, despite its age, offers better and less troublesome experience. At least there the gameplay stuff works and classes are finished. The grind is defined, and while you'll encounter bugs, such as a skill doing different damage than advertised or an side-quest NPC that doesn't give proper reward, or the dialog that gets stuck, these in no way interfere with the game and aren't even remotely related to any of the main path elements.
FFS, 2/9 professions have expertise and the storyline content goes up to level 45. This is a joke. You can't even start reviewing a live game that has 2/9 classes, and the rest is just a place holder.
Many vets are bitter over pre-cu and fanbois will defend it till end of time. But look at facts only, and you realize its a broken game. And such games get reviewed poorly.

I've been lobbying DirectTV to allow me to label each channel myself so I could change G4 to EC (Embicile Channel). I hope this is just a scientific research thing and not actual enjoyment.
I just can't stand their futile attempts at humor. It's like watching a show based on nails scratching on a chalkboard. But if you like it who am I to say anything?

X-play isn't even the worst program. Attack of the Show is some of the worst TV on this planet. Cheap flousies and lame nerds trying to act funny and sexy while lacking any substance, style or focus. I would rather watch the food network or Lifetime then Attack of the Show. It is such horrid tv. If I had to pick 1 person I would like to see tortured on TV that host would definately be the one. He is the single most annoying person on tv.

I'll say one thing for the review, they picked the perfect soundbite to represent the current game: "Kid, this place needs all the help it can get."
