Just make sure you use some sort of Escrow system if you are going to do it.

You want to buy a car from someone in the UK? Is that right?
If so have you added in the cost for transportation to the US? There are also a number of things that have to be done to the car for it to be legal in the US. (Especially CA)
I do not know the site you are talking about, but that is a nice little hunk of change you are talking about.
Remember the old saying "If it sounds too good to be true, It prob is."
I shoot for the curve... anything above that is gravy.
but it is way too expensive to drive this car in the UK
so he is selling it to some one who lives in the USA>.....
it is a American standard car... in other words its regulated with all the SMOG and DOT tests....
he will cover the shipping... on
here is the email
"Hello, The final price is $7,000. The car is as good as new so you don't have to worry. Here are the most important details about the car: US car (US model, US specs )- odometer in Miles, speedometer in Miles per Hour (MPH)This car meets all Environmental Regulations in the USA (DOT, EPA ). It has a clear title issued in US and it can be registered anytime under your name without a problem. I will end you with the car the Bill Of Sale so you will have no problem with registration there under your name and for this deal to be legitime. It's absolutely perfect, it has a clear title, has never been repaired, never been involved in any type of accident or had any paint or body work done! I live in United Kingdom, now where European specs are different from the American ones and it costs me too much driving this car legally here and also there is nobody interested in buying it here that's why I am selling it so cheap hoping to find a buyer in the US where it belongs. The second motive I sell so cheap is
because here in United Kingdom I cannot drive this car. The best and fastest way I can ship with is using Lufthansa Air Cargo and it takes between 4-5 days to arrive at your home address and We will use a safe payment method I am affiliated at an Escrow Service, I have a purchase protection account for $20000 and I assume you know what this means. I will wait for your email to let me know if you are interested in knowing more details about the purchase. Thank you,
Originally posted by WantsumBier What year is the car? What would that car go for here in the US? Do you actually think this guy is willing to pay the thousands of $$$ it will take to ship it over here? I have a bad feeling about it. Sounds like a scam. Just my $.02
The shipping wouldn't be thousands. If you meet the freighting service at the nearest staion, usually about 2-3 hours from where you live, it costs about $700 last I checked. What year is the car? If you are saving about $5,000 then its probably legit. If it's brand new and it costs like $30,000, then it's a scam. It all depends on how good the deal is, but the shipping isn't that much of an issue to worry about.
This is absolutely positively a scam. Do not, under any circumstances, give this person any money. The posters link a couple posts above should be all the proof you need.

Rick... Richard..? Might be the same guy. If I were you I would not, under any circumstances give the guy money. I would even report him to the police, he probably isn't even in the UK.

Ok if your going to do this deal pay in paypal. Because if this guy doesn't give you your car you can contact paypal and they will give you your money back garanteed if you do not recieve the item. So I say trust it. But use paypal.

My friend bought a crossfire from someone in the Uk and got a damn good deal on it, and she wasn't scammed. Stop giving baseless advice.

Maybe, I would however get the license plate information from the car and take that info the police station to check for any police reports on the car. Maybe it was stolen, etc. etc.

Some advice with a base! People are catching on I tell you.
It's a scam bro. One of my ninjas went to the UK to find out for you. I'm pretty sure you can find a good car, same model, came year around your state.
I don't know man.
Just be cautious with your money. Grab as MUCH infomation from this guy as you can.

Maybe they aren't learning after all. Middle Man payment systems eliminate 100% of internet scams for people who aren't complete tards.
Well I have an example for ya if you haven't figured it out yet...
A coworker of mine almost did the same kinda transaction as you did, only it was just from state to state, California to Washington. The guy was offering the car (cant remember what the car was, but very rare in the states) for a ridiculously low price, my coworker had a cop neighbor (or something) of his run a check on the car, and yes it was a scam.
Uhm...... Lawyer assistance I would very much advise to you for something like this over the intraweb. Atleast that's what my brother says and he's a lawyer.

And if he used a middle man it wouldn't have mattered if it was a scam...

a $7,000 financial transaction from a website that plays loud rave music.
Intresting.
Make sure you pay by credit card so you can cancel the payment.
Whereabouts in the U.K. is this car?
