Howdy, Stranger!

It looks like you're new here. If you want to get involved, click one of these buttons!

Hmmm... Why?

Couple thoughts here.

First, why was the KO Beta Client thread locked? No discussion about it, and no way to keep it on the front page... Maybe it was not suppose to be public? Anyway...

Second, the file is named Setup.ZIP. Why do companies do this? Name their file something stupid like this? Theirs is the only Setup file I might ever download? I would not want to be able to distinguish it from other setup files in the future?

I mean, how hard would it to have been named KOSetup.ZIP or something else a bit more descriptive?

I know, I can change it, and yes I did change it, but why do they do it? That is the question...

Was in the process of administration when you viewed the thread there. An explantion and referal is stated.

As for your 2nd question... I believe it is to identify what are "setup" files and what are not for those that are not "computer savay".

Having "KOsetup" may just be more confusing to them.... image

I don't no, I always post in general then I go to the game area and post there.  Guess I'm not to post in general anymore and just under the game title.  No clue why post was closed, didn't think I did anything wrong since I was only letting people know there was a new client they had to DL if they were going to open beta.

Stumped........image  OK I see they put a link to it for me.

Well, the explanation is posted, and it is a good explanation. But I think I am in agreement with cedori. I do not normally read the KO forum, but I am very interested to find out that there is an open beta and the client is available. I think a reference to it here in the General Forum is merited, though it is not my call :)

When posting a new message, regardless of where, it will be displayed within the "Most recent Posts".

If someone wishes to learn of more recent news or discussion of a perticular game title, it would be expected they would visit the approariate Game Title's Forum and not the General Discussion.

If there are any Major Game Developments such as an Open Beta Launch, our Staff News Team do their best to stay on top of these events to keep you, the community informed. In which Case a News Development thread will be posted. Each registered member of mmorpg.com will receive an email with a referal link to the thread (if they have the option selected within their profile settings) and a post is automatically placed within the General Discussion thread for viewing and comments.

If any post  is made in the wrong forum by mistake it can be easily relocated. The fact that there were 2 posts identically made in 2 seperate forums leaves the developing disscussion divided and confusing for those that wish to view or comment. Ie... Which thread do i post on or should i post on both? Creating more confusion and more administrative work for staff.

The open thread remains active in the Game Title's appropriate forum and the 2nd one is Locked for purge.
