A letter and tribute to Steve Irwin

Howdy folks, I know this is late news. I'm not trying to cause any contraversy nor start any heated debates. This is just a simple and kind farewell to a great man who will be in inspiration for all.

Dear Crocodile hunter,

You lived and died doing what you loved. How many people can truly say that with a straight face? Not many my friend. Oh how we miss you. We miss your smile. We miss your charm. We even miss your grace and beauty in the face of danger.

You lived life to the fullest and that made people happy. Your energy and enthusiasm brought a spark to many viewers eyes. Your smile brought life to the imaginations of many children and they will forever be thankful. The world will not be the same without you Steve. No more will we see you look danger right in the eyes and laugh. No more will you be able to take us into strange lands that wonder and amaze us. And most of all, no more will we see you again, at least not in real life.

Steve you will always be in our hearts. Your outlook on life will be an inspiration for all. I hope your kids have the same passion, drive and determination you had. When they are older I hope they come to understand what a special human being you were and will cherish your memory for the rest of their lives. I hope they never stop dreaming and always look at life as an adventure. An adventure that will never end as long as your heart and spirit are strong.

Steve you might have passed on into the clearing, but your adventure will live on through us. Your spirit will give us strength. It will lead us to do great things. Your spirit will help us touch many minds and open many hearts, the same way you did time and time again. Steve, please, let us carry on your work. You do not have to worry. Your energy and enthusiasm will last us a life time. Please rest in peace. Let us finish your journey. Let us make the world smile like you have done time and time again.

You will be missed Steve, but we will move on. I think you of all people would want that. You would not want us to sulk around in misery and gloom. You would absolutely hate that. It would drive you mad!! When you were alive you were all about celebrating life, living it to the fullest every single day of our lives. Sitting around in misery and pain would go against everything you believed in. In your eyes it would almost be worse than death itself.

You would not tolerate it. You would not have us wasting away our lives in the bowls of our pain. "GET UP!!" you would say "Don't let life pass you by!!" Life in this day and age is so special and oh so precious. Everyday we are breathing is a special day. A day of joy and celebration. Magical things can happen if we put our minds into what we want to accomplish and what we want to achieve.

Steve Irwin proved this time and time again. Watching him on television was like watching magic. He surprised me every time he went toe to toe with a crocodile or took on a dangerous snake.

Steve was the best of the best in what he did. Nobody can take that away from him. Nobody will ever be able to replace the magic he created on screen. He did what he loved so effortlessly and so smoothly. He was definitely one of a kind.

People will always see him as a trailblazer. A person who looked life right in the face and didn't flinch. What a brave soul what a special human being he was. I love you Steve Irwin. We will always love you for the rest of our lives. Steve in our eyes, minds and hearts, you will always be the crocodile hunter, who lived and died doing what he loved. We will always miss you Steve, forever ever more.

Sincerely,

Ichben Einberliner

Thats a nice text.. yes it is.... I never reall knew that guy, heard of him for the first time when he died, but from what I heard he looked like an example and a true animal lover... rare things nowadays.

    Just a side note

Shouldn't your signature be  "Ichbin Einberliner"? That would mean "Iam aberliner"(a guy from Berlin). Don't know if that was a typo or it was meant..

He was a great man, I used to watch his show when I was smaller, I heard about his death from somebody at school and I thought he was joking at first but, the way he died was well, doing what he loved but still a bad way to die, he will be greatly missed.

Yea, when I heard my friend overdosed on coke I couldn't believe he died doing what he loved. He's greatly missed, and I hope this creates an awkward silence so this thread will die. It's Steve Erwin, it's not that big of a deal.

Steve Erwin was a great man of the wonderful Australian culture, he took his fathers skill and business and turned it into a worldwide conservation effort!

I mourn for him and his wife and 2 children it makes me very sad.

What the hell did he do? Wander the forests fucking with animals, and profiting greatly from it. I think my lust for money is less than half of his, so I think I have every right to say it. And now you will say, "he loved animals." I'll respond by saying he took his love for animals and exploited them to fatten his wallet, just like every other great entrepreneur.

modjoe... the facts go against your conclusion. First, he started out as some dude working for a wildlife branch of aussie gov, then got a camera, started shooting etc. He was exciting and somewhat funny, which made it become a success. Then he used that success/fame to get more viewers, so he could get out the message. All the while running the family zoo. And finally, he takes millions of his 'profit' and uses it to buy land that is used for nothing but preserving habitat for endangered species.

He's doing all this in full public view and you bash... who the fck are you? Probably some moron who hasn't gotten 'any' lately... or got burned when he trusted someone, so now you think all people are self-centered scumbags. You make me feel dirty for even having responded to your post... like you've infected me or something...

how ironic is it to die to something as tame as a stingray and not a giant croc or one of those snakes. but it is messed up how he died.

In the end there can be only one. (highlander)

If every cent went back to the conservation, how did he pay bills, put food on the table, drive, etc? So now Stevie is a lying philanthropist.

So he was an even bigger entrepreneur than I suspected.
I guess I'll make a new topic for every big CEO that dies, as they were thinking along the same lines as Stevie.

Wow, you are a very very heartless man, your so called lust for money, where does your money go to, your pocket, where did Steve Erwins money go, into his wildlife preserve where he fed animals and let them roam freely while observing them to make discoveries. Where was Steve Erwins lust for money, nowhere unless you count wanting more money to keep his land going so he could have more animals protected in it.

he Taught lots of people things about animals, he did a lot of charity for wildlife. nobody did as much for wildlife as he did. and yes, he did do his work for his love of animals. he grew up among dangerous animals, and has always worked with animals, even before he started a television show. sure he also has a lot of money, but, unlike you, he actually deserves it. you should honnestly drop that "Every celebirity is an heartless jerk" Attitude. it only makes you look like a fool. he did a lot of good things. "exploiting his love for animals" sir, you need a slap in the face.

Every cent earned implies profit, profit comes AFTER paying costs. If you have nothing positive to say keep out of threads like this.

Back on topic, letter was great. The man will be missed by a lot of people. I hope the zoo keeps going.
