Another mmorpg turned down by me, need help looking for a new one.

Hello guys, I have tried out many mmorpgs but never gotten really stuck in any of them. I just quit wow after getting really bored of it and now Im eager after a new mmorpg. It doesnt have to be new itself but just new for me. Hehe.

I have been looking around a bit and I have no idea what to go for. So I thought you could help me out, I will point out what I enjoy the most and hope some friendly souls here will come to my aid.

First of all, the games I have played:

SWG
Ragnarok
Wow
PE
DnD Online
City of Heroes and Villains
-------------------------------------------------

So what am I looking for? I have no idea, Im damn sure thou that I dont want to play Tibia, Lineage, Everquest or Ultima Online.

What Im looking for is a game with at least something called graphic engine (not optional but it would be a good plus if it looks good too). Some sort of pvp. Fantasy or Sci-fi doesnt matter, any kind of character creation with at least more than 8 options on appearance, class etc. Add some roleplaying and it would be wonders.

Im not interested in just mindless grinding (like in Lineage) of course all mmorpgs has some sort of grinding to achieve a certain goal like level or so. I can live with that.

But just an active game with a decent community and so forth would be nice. Thanks!

Tried EVE yet? You can play it casually or with a hardcore mindset, but your character will always progress within the same scale. Since training is done over time(And not grinded), you don't have to play your char, to train him up. Decent community, that holds a fair share of scumbags, traitors, liars, and goody doers. Which only makes the game pretty interresting in the end.

You are always vulnerable to being attacked(Your ship will explode, some of your modules will be destroyed, and the rest of the modules will be dropped in a can, whenever you die) unless you are docked in a station. So being aware of your surroundings is an absolute must.

    Eve
    Saga of Ryzom
    EQ2

AFAIK all of them have trials (though I think Ryzom's needs a credit card)

Personally I think the best game to try out right now is Eve, which seems to be doing pretty well right now.  Most other games resemble eachother so much that Eve is a nice change of pace.

EQ2 is a good choice if you have a high-end PC.

I'm pretty sure Ryzom doesn't unless you want to go past the trial to the mainland. Maybe on an old trial it did though.

I'm in the same boat, I've tryed all that you all have listed and didn't like any of them. I'm looking to try out 9Dragons, thrones of chaos, Age of conan, and Atriarch when they come out. I think I'll be able to play Atriarch for awhile but unforanitly it doesnt even go into beta until next year.
