After that you will need a group to progress properly. Talking about "playing" the game. It's probably possible to keep grinding mobs that are doable solo, but that isn't something a normal person would want to do day out and day in to progress very slowly.
this isn't a game i would suggest playing if you like to solo alot or most of the time. you can solo but you will need to group alot to get some of the essentials.
they say you can group or solo all the way to max level
Sigil has also stated that:
20% of content is Casual (1-3 players)
60% of content is group (4-6 players)
20% of content is raid (7+ players)
Sigil has said that soloing will not produce rewards as big as what you could get when in a group.
But to answer your question... yes, you can solo
Unlike what Baphamet said "YOu can solo but you will need a group to get some of the essentials" Soloing will allow you to retrieve everything you need to keep soloing, however your equipment/skills will not be that great compared to what is needed for grouping encounters.
Sigil has said that this game focuses mainly on groups. But they are not leaving soloing out for the people who just don't have time. They are trying to implement systems to get you into groups quickly though, so hopefully you will not have to wait 2 hours to find a good group.

Originally posted by MX13 I still don't understand folks who get mad that they can't solo everything (not the OP btw)... it's a MMO... What's the point of playing it alone?
A lot of people dislike how long it can take to get a good group of like-minded people together.
However, as a person who loves his solo time, even I agree that the best part of MMO's is the community and friends you make. Sometimes, a good group is the best fun you'll ever have.

I have to agree with the both option...

Interesting that - myself and two others regularly game together and as we know how we work we tend not to recruit more unless needed, so that means I should be loking for a casual game.
Just wondering is that your take on things or is it generally accepted?

If they keep soloing exp similar to beta 2 you will be able to solo but it will be so painfully slow as to make watching paint dry seem exciting and fast paced.

I really think your numbers are wrong, they told uss it was going to be more groupe areas but what i heard there is more then 20% of casual, not much more but still :P
Starwars Galaxies, An Empier Diveded, That's what it says on my box anyway.
I kinda like the idea of being in groups, meeting new ppl or playing with friends to level is cool. Im looking foward to this game i hope its not a flop.

As far as I know:
1-10 (or around here) is easily doable solo.

I'll start my own SWG... with Black Jack... and Hookers!!!
In fact, forget the SWG!!!!

The trick is, to find a GOOD, FRIENDLY group.
